Upcoming Note about Kali
I have been testing on Kali. The Mining Foreman link DOES NOT work anymore. Cycle time decrease does not function in gang. --------------

aimez- tell me how you ended up there and I can tell you where you did a mistake !
Taaketa- Please submit a bug report, this is very important news. I have tested that the mindlink also does not work on Kali.
Menthal- The drone coordination link is covered in the guide already. Maybe you missed it?

I looked into it and the thing is that i am talking about ore/minute and you are talking about ore/cycle :)

Bug reported submitted but it is intention. I quote Oveur here.
Originally by: "Oveur" 1: Is the old gang mechanism still available and if so has it been changed at all
Old gang is still available but has the following limitations (which might change): Max 50 members, no damage state updates, no members visible in seamless map and no gang bonuess work. Some of the new stuff works, like the roles and the gang broadcast messages.
In a fleet, you wil get damage states of your squad and will all be visible on maps. They will also recieve gang bonuses from all their leaders. Other squad leaders, wing commanders and the fleet commander are also represented on the map now.
And heres the thread.
Lucky we got Leadership 5 eh Halada? --------------

Youre still wrong... 1732/min for the Hulk is way off... that means 5196/cycle which is not even close to the real thing ...

been looking on the test server for mining drone optimization riggs, or whatever they are called.
they work :-D they give 10% bonus (T1) and 15% (T2) tho they decrease a lot of cpu, i suggest you raise the related skill to lvl 5 to decrease the cpu usage. and perhaps get mining upgrades to lvl 5 as well.
Also it seems the exhumers get more armor/hull/shield capacity

Are these drone rigs the only rigs w/ mining bonuses? I haven't seen any others mentioned, also is the drone coordination mindlink module in kali?

that's a gang module, needed to be fitted on a bc, command ship or capital ship, the riggs can be installed on the mining ship itself. and yes it seems like the mining foreman drone improvement module is going to come (finally) in Kali other then that there were no noticable increases or new equip for miners

second part off the quote was this
2% bonus to gang members' mining yield per level. Only the bonus of the gang member with the highest level in this skill is used.

2132.270146 ore per cycle ==>133 Bistot units per cycle
133 x 3 (3 strips) x 20 (20 cycles per hour) = 7980 Bistot units per hour
7980 x 10 500 ISK = 83 790 000 ISK
I find the numbers make more sense if one treats the Mining Link bonus as a cycle time bonus (which it actually is) instead of a yield bonus, as you have done above.
360 (strip2 base yield) x 1.25 (mining V) x 1.25 (astrogeology V) x 1.15 (Mining Barge V) x 1.15 (Exhumer V) x 1.1025 (Two mining upgrades) x 1.1 (Mining Foreman V) x 1.05 (HX Wall Mining Implant Slot 10) x 1.05 (Michi Excavation Mining Implant Slot 7 - FIXED) x 1.75 (T2 crystals)
= 1740.629 units/strip2 cycle = 108 Bistot (weighing 16 units each)/strip2 cycle
In one hour, one can at maximum (with the Mining Foreman Link cycle bonus) have...
(60 * 60s) / (180s / 1.225 cycle bonus) = 24.5 strip2 cycles/hour
...which gives total of...
108 Bistot/strip2 * 3 strip2 * 24.5 cycles/hour = 7938 Bistot/hour
...resulting in a slightly less total of 83.349.000 ISK/hour. (Just picking on the math - never mind me! ) --

I was just looking at the command ships and saw this....
Command Ships Skill Bonus: +50 m3 extra Drone Bay space and 3% bonus to effectiveness of Information Warfare Links per level
Does that mean my 22.5% bouns will go up by another 15%?
I had planed on getting my alt in a command ship anyways but this would mke it even more worth it...
Please only reply if you know for sure.

Edited by: Halada on 07/11/2006 22:30:45 Ford Hakata - Your math is better than mine. I'm sleep deprived because of medschool and botched the job. Good work !
Aimez- My guide was correct, but the mistake I did was to use per minute instead of a per cycle approach, which is more accurate. My excel sheet gives me the rate per cycle per strip, and since I havent mined in a Hulk for so long, the fact there are 3 strips allowed me to say per minute instead of per cycle in the guide, since then the foreman link did not give a cycle bonus but rather a yield bonus.
Charok - With the new gang system in Kali, I cannot predict what will happen exactly, a lot is changing. You should wait.
So you were right :)

I believe the cycle reduction should be calculated as (60 * 60s) / (180s * (1-0.225 cycle bonus)) = 25.8 strip2 cycles/hour

If i remember correctly from the Test Server, 8 Pilot gang turns into a fleet and all 8 have to be in the system for gang assist mods to work, Cant confirm this becuase Test server is currently locked for fan fair

Has anyone tried to links, implants and such on the test server? Preferably someone who knows how it should work and currently works in TQ? If such a person exists I would like to ask him or her to post revelant bugs immediately in the Kali forum/bug thread in the hopes it will get fixed before the release date.
These mining bonus' have been working odd for so long it would be nice to have them all working correctly.

Command ship bonuses have no effect on mining because they affect only one type of racially specific Warfare links. No ORE Command ships yet!
One small correction: Mining upgrades stack! 2 upgrades is therefore *(1.05*1.05) = *1,1025 3 upgrades is therefore *(1.05*1.05*1.05) = *1,157625 etc.
Theoretically you can have quite a few mining upgrades on a command ship or a BS, but in a maxed out situation with several mining upgrades instead of an armor tank you encounter the problem of overflowing you cargohold.
Using Modulated Deep Core Miners and Tech II crystals on the commander is really the last icing on the cake for a solo miner with three accounts. you get a base yield of 120*1,75 = 210 per 180 cycle as opposed to 60 per 60 cycle. With maxed out links the times of cycles are down to 139.5 secs for strips and deep core miners and a mere 46,5 secs for regular miners. This will increase the yield of the commander by 1/6th or 16,67% and it is much easier to empty hold when the Ore dumps are spread out over half
If the Commander is maxed out in his mining skills too skills he not only gives a 34,75% bonus to the gang but can also mine about 40% of the amount the Hulk pilot is doing. If the link worked as the description of it states, the bonus would be 40,875% to the gang and 62% to the gang leader with the implant.
The reason it doesn't work is because it has to be effective only when used with a command link. Otherwise every Hulk pilot in EVE would want one and it wouldn't be a special commander item. It is ridiculous if every miner would want to train Mining Director to level 5 even if they never planned to set foot in a gang leading ship.
When I finish training for the link on Friday, I can test if it does have any effect on a mining director in a BC with an active link. Will my cycles on Miner IIS drop from 46,5 secs to 39,75 secs? I will check and double check

Great guide but some questions.
The hulk is the only exhumer listed with a bonus to shield resistances yet all exhumers have the same resists. Is this correct?
Ill be tanking sanshas so I was considering the following 3xMSM 1xDG EM - 1xDG THERM - 1xDomination SBA - 1xGistii SSB 1xMLU - 1xIFFA
Anyone with any experience tanking sansha know if this will hold up? Can also cram the same tank on a mackinaw if you drop the MLU for a DG Co-Processor which seems required for the lower EM/THERM resists ill be tanking on.
And a final thought. For extra protection on mining ops a mobile warp disruption bubble aligned to the gate and at distance from the belt for extra hulk warping time seems a good idea?

The Highwall mining implant isnt that rare... youll pay between 100-150mil on escrow. Yhje Michi is much more rare as it a cosmos mission reward, and goes up to 350mil most of the time. Both can be found on escrow or sell forums.
As for sansha tanking, you should try and see if it holds with some BS guarding you instead it doesnt work and you need to take em out quickly. A warp bubble is definitely overkill, the chances someone will actually come directly from the gate is very small.
And as for the hulk resists, yes, they all get the same resists, the hulk wasnt properly described (or the skiff and mack werent).
