That is honestly one of the most funny comment i have ever heard about. Why would a game that is growing like no other in mmorpg history "be gone soon" ? And why would anyone who is a bit up to date even consider posting about such nonsense here?

I'd say WoW will get the chop sooner than EVE. EVE is a niche game, its unique.. its not some watered down fantasy RPG.
Look at the MMOs that have gone bust in the past 5 years, they've all been EQ-clones. No, EVE is here to stay.

IMHO, EvE grows too slowly so it will also die a very slow death. ----------------

You don't purchase a new server cluster like they did if you are about to close down, it wouldn't make financial sense.

wait.. people still subscribe to PC Gamer? Damn.
I had the NA version for like 5 years back in the 90s. About the time they peaked on the size of their issues.
but one day I sat down and REALLY looked at it.
That one issue had 70% of the pages were advertisements, 15% were pictures and only 15% of the mag was actual text/info. And of that, most was reviews on horrible games.
cancelled the subscription, and never looked back.

EVE will probably not end until at least 2015.
It simply has so much going for it, and such a phenomenal growth rate. And the devs are not afraid to completely rewrite their own code to update the engine.

I've got that issue sitting in my car right now keeping my spare tire from squeaking.
But since you've brought it up, it doesn't say that eve is dead/dying. Read more carefully, it says something like MMORPG's that AREN'T dead.

If EVE totally stalls on additional subscriptions right now and holds constant for 12 months, they'll make $15 million in gross profits.
Given the game's growth, that number is probably going to be something more like $20 million for 2006, just from subscrip revenue, never minding account activation fees, portrait swaps, etc. etc. etc. That's also assuming China cluster doesn't come online in 2006.
If anything, EVE has another five years of solid growth ahead of it. -------------- What good are actions if there's no one to tell the tale afterward?

It actually wasn't "going to be gone soon", it was more like "everyone thought it was dead but it's still alive and kicking". Even so, I was surprised to see the game on that list. Not that it spells trouble for EVE, though, and don't forget that the same magazine only a few months ago published the story of Guiding Hand's coup over... someone (I forgot the victim corp's name )... anyway, that brought a bunch of subscribers, so I think they're even where karma's concerned.
That is all.

with the amount of stress they get off the players, all the devs will be in rehab soon, forcing the game to end

The devs feed off stress of players!
Come on! I mean really, TomB has a nice side of lambs head and a full glass of Player Stress mix for lunch every day!

I know and play mmo's that are older than eve and have never passed the 2k pcu mark and thats not all on the same shard either and there still going strong. suffice to say eve will still be around until the dev's say otherwise unless they capitulate to the whiners that want everything easy.
