I'm learning about Escrow and am wondering how often players check it.
Thanks.

tbh i almost never use it its annoying to browse and you have to inspect everything prices tend to be the same as on the market

Once a month or less, or when I need to use it. ----------------

You mean you actually take time off the forums DS?
I go through the Escrow if there's something I really need and I can't find it on the market anywhere. I've seen legit escrows for high end battleships and others with the exact same description from another system but there's only a bit of pyerite in there.
Someone is scouring the escrow market and creating descriptions that match existing legit ones. Probably hoping that someone will click on the legit one and automatically buy the rest unseen because it's a bargain. Make sure you inspect each and every one before you commit or you could be down by a considerable amount of isk.

I've started to notice cargo containers drifting in space with advertisements for stuff in Escrow. Interesting idea but I hope that doesn't end up cluttering space with ad/garbage.

Ive not been playing long and have only looked at ESCROW once and seen that its a complete pain in the backside to use. its got to be the most user unfriendly selling systems ive ever seen not only is there no search function but you have to open about 80-90% of items to find out whats being sold. dont think im going to be using it again any time soon.

Welcome to eve -- My idea of an OS is one that Operates the System, not a complete package of every piece of software ever written. Computers created "The Paperless Office". But some stupid fool invented a printer |

Not sure why, but eve has no side scroll feature. You have to open the window wider or reduce the size of columns in several things not just escrow. Tbh I really cant believe people are complaining about some of the things I've seen on these forums and not this. It seems a very basic user interface tool. The descriptions are on the far right column. Another window I've noticed that cuts off valuble info is the agent info window. You cant see what standing you need to use the agent unless you open the window wider.
As to the o.p. question I generaly check escrow when i need something. I.E. a bpc or a rare item like a faction shield/armor hardener. Tbh if you scour the escrow several times a day you are likely to find some good deals but, if you dont need the item or have money to invest it's not really that good of a deal

Some people have alts with no money on them.
They open up escrow, set it to "show only escrows I can afford" and hit refresh. Then they claim 0 isk escrows. Boring, but whatever floats your boat I guess.

But how do you buy named stuff on the normal market if you dont have a copy of the item you want to buy? without a copy of it you cant use the ½ show market details + no? Or are named items in a speial list in the market window i've never seen before?

It honestly depends on the player.
I know I'll spend weeks on end in 0.0, but then if I come back to empire I'll spend a good few hours sorting through escrows in either Jita or Oursulaert or Yulai, looking for good deals.
I am sure those that have production/trade alts they permenantly park in a hub do it way more often.

I'll spend a fair amount of time look through Escrow when I'm looking for something rare ie t2 ships/Named faction mods maybe high end skills and BPC's. I never look on escrow if I can find something easily in the regions market.
Once in a while I'll looks for hanger clear outs to see if they might be a good deal. But have never bought one ;).

I nearly always look at escrow when I am in a new region.
You can pick up some real bargains.
