Just curious but would you consider noting down the cumulative ranks of the level 5 skills?

Love the progress bar, Trip...
Good point Dkiler, the skill adds no value to the character at level 0...although on the other hand, if a player has a skill plugged in, even if it is level 0, they do own the skill. They've met the prerequisites, they've purchased the skill, and they've plugged it in. And it becomes moot once they spend a few minutes training to level 1. For now, we will continue to count the level 0 skills
Trooper, thanks for the idea; a cumulative total of level 5 skills weighted by rank would be interesting to see...but such a list is more than I'm willing to take on given that I do these lists manually Let's leave it to the players to share that info in their posts if they wish. A few people already do...Dian Cecht on the previous page is an example.

Am I missing something? Dr Caymus' DOB is 10 days later than Namarus, but he has 10M SP more?

Dr Caymus, is an Int/Mem specialised character.
As such he trains his those skills much faster than I do. Since Dr Caymus doesn't do much apart from industrial related stuff this actually benefits him alot. Specialisation 4tw.
I, however, am a generalist character, I train a bit of everything, and I'm a master of nothing.
I will update my skill points again once I reach my 3rd birthday, I'm hoping that I will exceed 50M by that point.

Yeah I know what you mean and getting the players to do it is alot easier. Figured it would be intersting to see as the ultra specilising often leads to more ranks in less skills especially when one considers the more combat orientated trees. As an example, Tripoli has (i think) 142 ranks in his 74 lvl 5 skills. I have 18 less lvl 5's but actually only 9 less total ranks.
Anyways, I'll add myself in with the total ranks as I popped in the idea for it.
Thulsa Doom (a mere strippling amongst such august personages ^^)
You currently have 138 skills and 40,796,707 skill points
With 56 Level 5 skills with 133 ranks @ 295628 points/skill
(/mutters complaints about minnie specilised pilots having to train 3 seperate weapons trees as well as armour and sheild tanking :/)

Originally by: Seradhin Time for an update from me since it seems I lost the #1 spot in skillpoints per skill last week due to the lack of one.
I currently have 42,989,800 SPs in 95 skills, 70 skills at lvl5 , average of 452,515 SP per skill.
If I don't buy any new skills, but get em all too lvl 5, I can reach a max off 568k/skill But you'll stay ahead easily, cause I'm unimplanted and have quite a few skills lined up atm that use my lowest attributes. And how exactly do you adapt to potentially getting killed by everybody you kill? -Nero Scuro If I miss you, it will be because my tracking is a little off. - Grey Area |

For the noobs (me, for example...), are there any thoughts the vets can share as to how to get a higher training rate (save for getting implants, which are expensive for folks like me that are still buying ships and doing lvl 2 mission)?
I have three of the five learning skills at lvl 4, and the other two at lvl 3.
I have just under a month in game, train 23/7, and have roughly 730k sp. |

There is really only one thing which determines how quickly or slowly you train a particular skill.
Attribute values
So - it follows that the only way to increase your skill training speed is to somehow make your attributes better.
Currently there are 2 ways to maximise these ... Train the learning skill, learning skills and advanced learning skills to level 5 and also buy the most expensive implant set you can afford. Recently I have seen +5 implants selling for between 320 and 450 mil EACH (all types) so these are starting to fall in price butI do appreciate they are very expensive for new players - so start with +1 implants or +2.
In future there will be other ways to affect your attributes by using Boosters, little is known of these yet but at some stage they are anticipated to arrive - as will +6 implants.
You can also maximise your training speed by specialising in those skill areas that your attributes best match. Dr Caymus is an Int / Mem specialist and trains mainly industrial and science skills - you can see that his training has gone very quickly in comparison to others (such as my self) who have trained skills across the spectrum equally.
Hope that helps - simple answer is train your learning skills to max and use implants (best you can afford), I know implants is not what you wanted to hear but sadly that is the answer.

Heh...well this one just goes to show that a 3-year-old character with 50+ million skillpoints can still do dumb stuff. This one has to do with a smartbomb button that was way too close to a microwarp drive button, and a crowded secure stargate. Yes, I know better.
I was amazed at how fast my pretty-well tanked Armageddon went down...took about two seconds, if that.

according to the EVE master data sheet there are 349.952.000 SP to gather spread over 321 skills and with 8 points per attribute you would take 55,5 years to learn all of them :)

Always did like the EMD, with the small exception that the macro doesn't work with my old version of Excel.
The EMD lists 11 skills that are either creation-only or are simply not yet released:
CFO Training Advanced Drone Interfacing Wing Command Astronautic Engineering Biology Genetic Engineering Gunnery Interfaces Jump Portal Generation Mnemonics Reverse Engineering DED Connections
The EMD is missing two skills: Bloodraiders Encryption Methods & Serpentis Encryption Methods.

Congrats, Namarus!
And a note to all participants...I will be updating the tables as of midnight GMT this Sunday the 14th of May. The next update will be on the 28th of May...I'll be on vacation on the 21st (you don't want to hear about the permanent bans I would be subjected to if I attempted to do anything EVE-related while on vacation ). So...get your updates in over the next couple of days...those are the stats that will be displayed for the following two weeks
Oh, Kiwi...I agree that expanding the lists to top 50 would be very cool. Way more than I'm ready to take on with my manual tracking process though.
