Hello folks,
I have an Acer Aspire 5742Z-4685 laptop. I wold like to update the drivers at no cost. Is this possible?
My attempts (CNET) resulted in malware, which I was able to remove.
Any assistance is appreciated.

NVM. After doing some research it appears the drivers are all up to date.
I'm having an issue where the screen goes blank and the drivers stop for a moment when jumping thru gates. I thought a driver update would fix this, but I probably should look into a better laptop. I never seen these people in my life. I don't recognize them Your Honor |

That sounds really odd, have you tried completetely reinstalling your drivers for your graphic card?

Normally I've seen blank/black screen stuff happen due to overheating. Isn't there a way to turn off the gate jump effect in the settings? If anything, there's probably a few graphics settings you could play with if you don't think it's hardware related (ie heat) or driver (ie they are all up to date). |

Since when do you have to pay for driver updates? That makes no sense. Don't cease attack because an enemy begins to smoke, or a few pieces fall off - Thats your singal to blast him all to hell. |

Well giving OP the benefit of the doubt, as my experience entails, it-¦s a pretty common scam for Tech Support "guys" to instill the notion in technically challenged people that most updates/maintenances/cleanups of hardware not only need to be done on a regular basis but with certified technicians for a specific cost in real life $$$ and maintenance "plans"
So perhaps OP was under that notion and he now knows better?
Just wondering
Cheers!
