Gabriel Nurillah wrote:Is there a safe place to put plex, i just had my ship destroyed when i jumped into a deserted facility, sector was 0.8 so i thought it would be safe, about a minute after i got there about 15 ships fired on mine...it was almost instantaneous. Lost the cargo and the plex, so where else can i put it.
For future refrence, go to the system you want your plex in (Like Jita as its a trade hub) Then redeem your PLEX, thus removing the risk of trasporting plex in a ship. Ego Sum Mortem Incarnatum - I Am Death Incarnate |

but even that is not 100% safe, not to mention the skills u'll need to fly one
Personally I use full buffer and resists fit to a Drake, with all stabs in the lowslots. No-one would ever think to look in a Drake for anything valuable and they'd be daft to gank it on the off-chance. |

Gabriel Nurillah wrote:Wow , that was close, just found my items thanks for all the help. Is their a safe way to transport items?
Short answer: No.
Long answer: There is no safe way to transport PLEX. Put a single PLEX in a turtle-tank battleships, fly it through 1.0 and gankers will eagerly lemming away ten billion ISK worth of Catalysts trying to gank you. It's like blood and sharks.
Funny thing is, though no one seems to realize this, is that PLEX never drop.

To the OP. It sounds like you are truly new like me. Things I found. It is good to run the tutorial track for a newb. You can get several free ships, ISK, and a number of free skills. Running the advanced military tutorial for evey race will get you skills in a number of important weapon systems - drone, small laser, rocket, and small projectile if memory serves. In the tutorial system the mining ship is awesome - several of the tutorial missions contain decent value asteroids. I outfit my miner with two mining lasers and a slavager and used it for cleanup after most missions. Remember that most missions are on a fairly long timer - you can run the mission in a combat configured ship, return for cleanup/mining and then turn in the mission. Also, on the advanced combat mission where you fly the explosive suiced ship? Return to it and you may find a nice cargo container the blwn up base left behind full of goodies. ALLWAYS keep your eyes open for potential loot in this game. All tutorial tracks are 10 episodes long with the exception of exploration which is 5. Exploration nets you probe scanners and an exploration frigate all with a very short investment in time.
One thing the tutorials do NOT teach. EVE is like no other game you have ever played I suspect. Except in the starter systems EVE is a viscious king of the hill world. You are always prey and you can at times chose to be predator. People will ambush you and kill you if it looks profitable to do it. Some will d it just for fun - thus the warning to NEVER fly with more than you can afford to lose. Anytime you undock know that you may die in the most horrible backstabed way. Be prepared for that, look for way to avoid that, that is the fun and challenge of EVE. If you are the personality type who gets really upset when backstabed or ambushed ths game may not be for you. On the other hand if you like the challenge of surviving as a rabbit or hunting as a fox this may be a place you like a lot.
PS. Highsec does NOT mean starter. Highsec just means that people who jump you will lose their ship for doing it. They will still do it if it looks profitable or if they are bored and just want to kill something regardless. Starter only applies to the 12 'School' systems and maybe the first systems out on their doorstep. CCP does not make it very clear to new players what EVE is about. Phew, close call OP! Would have sucked to lose a PLEX on your first day. You have been warned now thanks to all these fine people, who would off course never shoot at a PLEX hauler in hisec themselves... At least you had a taste of how loss feels while you thought it was gone. This 'real loss' is what makes Eve so special, and PVP more thrilling (for the non-space-rich). |

Going to "break" the forum rules slightly by linking a loss I had a long time ago to proof that Katran is wrong:
