first post don't kill me plz
ok so this has happened to me and I'm sure it's happened to a few other shortcut users: I'm in a fight and I want to use a module in the SECOND row of modules. having pressed this particular combination of keys a million times before I quickly press ALT-F1. HOWEVER due to lag or pressing the keys a millisecond out of order or something I just turned off my guns instead of activating my cap booster. so my idea is just highlight the row of modules that is currently shortcutted. For example if your not pressing anything the first row is highlighted, if your pressing the ALT key the highlight on the first row turns off and the second row becomes highlighted. and the same for the CTRL key. It wouldn't even have to be a server thing it could be all local graphics on the players client. just a little visual acknoledgement by the game that 'yes, you are indeed pressing the ALT key.' what do you all think? |

You said f1 turned off all your guns, which means they are grouped. So that means you intelligent enough to work the hi unlike most people. So legitimate help.
Using alt or ctrl will get you killed. Only use the second and third rows for passive modules and modules you never turn off, like shield hardeners. Any modules you use that you toggle, such as reppers, guns, scramblers, etc. put on the top line so you can just fire them with f1-f4 or f8 depending on the number of independent modules.
This is fairly easy to do, while undocked just click and drag their icons on the tray that appears. Best part is, they will stay in that configuration for that ship even if you dock, log off, or switch ships. |

if you unlock modules; bottom right of your HUD with speed, cap, armour, shield, and hull, there's a little 4 white lines - click on that - hunt for lock modules in place - untick that drag and drop modules as required - (if you drop one module onto another - it'll swap them - not sure about grouping/ungrouping guns with this) so drag all actives into the top bar, all passives below have fun |

I actually think this is a fairly good idea. Then again, I'm one of those weird, weird people who doesn't put all his active mods in the top row. |

Just only play in blobs with tidi. That way you get about 15 minutes between each cycle to decide what you want to do next! :D
It pretty much gets slow enough that play-by-email becomes a realistic alternative. The Indecisive Noob - A new EVE Fan Blog for news and stuff. |
