I would certainly agree that there is constant complaining about everything that happens, or doesn't happen.
However, if you don't understand why a lack of patch notes is important I'd suggest you ask anyone that has worked as a programmer what they they think about a company that releases patches with no documentation.

I don't remember anything about ribbons. I never did see that titan killmail though.
I'm beginning to doubt if there was one, TBH.
Being a scripted event it is likely it was just "blowed up real good" by whatever GM/Dev was running the event.

You guys seriously need to stop crying over lack of patch notes. If there's a patch, and there's no notes, it's usually because it's some **** that has absolutely no effect on anyone.
Good lord there are way too many tears on this forum over nothing. Seems nothing CCP can do, even giving out gifts, will be met with anything other than a whole bunch of "waah! I HATE YOU CCP" posts.
I think CCP should patch in a skill called HTFU, with level 5 required on every ship except the rookie ship, and they should leave it out of the patch notes.
Shhh, man. Shhhh.

It's all good, I'm half deaf with crap eyesight in one eye, so I know dem feels.
In the end, if there's anything of actual value or interest to players, or anything that's going to change gameplay, then it'll be communicated well in advance via patch notes.
If we're simply doing backend performance changes, or fixing something that was broken, and that we had already announced would be patched on the 30th, then patch notes aren't a massive priority, especially when the vast majority of our staff are at home with their families over Christmas and New Year.

My thread was started 15 Minutes before the patch notes update.
Well, now you know to wait at least another 15 minutes longer before complaining next time.
Also, you may have learned that developers are not in the habit of checking precise timestamps on whinging posts to see if an over-eager beaver might have actually been correct for 15 whole minutes about the lack of patch notes.
And thirdly, you might want to work on that impaired sense of humor. Falcon's comment was clearly not intended in anything other than a humorous way, and referred to your avatar. Clearly you're not blind - you're playing Eve and reading these forums.
Lighten up all around.
I find that without a good mob to provide one for them, most people would have no mentality at all. |

OK, I will.
Self, what do I think about a company that releases patches with no documentation?
Well self, that's an interesting question, and I think it comes down to the scale of the patch. If it's not directly customer affecting and/or is a behind the scenes fix, it's fine, as long as internal patch notes and change logs are kept. Many applications can have considerable numbers of changes behind the scenes which end users do not need to be informed about as they are unaffected.
Thanks self, that's answered my question. The Indecisive Noob - A new EVE Fan Blog for news and stuff. |

meh ... having watched Doctor Who from somewhere back in the mid 60s I can honestly say the "classic" doctors were boring old farts who were a cross between a geriatric school teacher and a pedophile boyscout master :D lets be honest fans of the "classic" doctors are the sort of people that read "Boys Own Annual" and "Biggles" as a kid and never really were comfortable with the fact that women now watched the show. |

It's damn near impossible, in my opinion, to top Four and Seven. Eccleston definitely had potential to be the best of the new Doctors... but Tennant was really the only one that had a proper go at getting into the role. Matt Smith was plagued by a micromanaging moron of a writer who has no idea what "depth" or "character development" are. Steven Moffat is only good at writing parodies, adaptations, and remakes. He should have never been allowed near Doctor Who (Blink, and The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances were exceptions to that statement). We'll see how Capaldi does... I am determined to actually give him a fair chance. That moment when you realize the crazy lady with all the cats was right... |

Seriously, what would be in any patch notes that would really be of that much importance that you all are crying and whining so much about patch notes. They got there. Their was nothing fancy in them. Sometimes, its actually a good thing to take a step away from the computer, go open a window and take a deep breath. IT will be OK. You will loose another ship soon and all will be well, no matter what changes or so called fixes they make.

Most of the time if there are no patch notes, the patch didn't affect you. Most of the rest, the changes were few and minor. There's only a few cases where large patches or changes didn't (and still don't) have patch notes.
