Edited by: Lord WarATron on 16/03/2006 16:24:44 I am actually quite intrested in this crazy nutcase business of shield tanking an apoc.
I am thinking along the lines of 2 xlarge boosters, and piles of PDU's/CPU's in order to have a sustainable cap.
Any setups?
So far, I can run a solid 2t2 large rep, 2 relay, 3 t2 hardner, armour tank setup with no probs. Just intrested in something unconventional --- Slot 10 Akemons Modified 'Noble'Zet 5000 implant +8% Armour FREE |

You'll never run 2 XLBoosters forever!
Shield tanking an apoc is a bad idea...bad bad bad You'll have no room for hardeners, and tanking without hardeners isn't a good idea (if you're going up against anything tough).
I'm not going to post more, just don't do it, please...

I agree, the lack of hardeners would really gimp that set-up.

Edited by: Jacinto Naysmith on 16/03/2006 19:06:01 The Raven has 6 midslots, the Apoc has 4. Given that people often fill a midslot or two with afterburners/sensor boosters/scramblers/othernontankingstuff there isn't a huge discrepancy between the 2 if you drop that stuff for the apoc. While you're looking into unconventional setups, given that the only laser bonus the apoc has is for capacitor use, using projectiles on it might be interesting. 1400mm artillery use the same amount of powergrid as mega beam lasers, and use 10 less CPU. The arty only uses 3 cap per shot too which is far less then the lasers (even with skills at IV/V).

Perhaps not 2 XLarge, but what about 1 Xlarge and 1 large? Again I am just intrested in something unconventional. --- Slot 10 Akemons Modified 'Noble'Zet 5000 implant +8% Armour FREE |

Bad idea... very bad idea.
And yes, i tried a few setups on the test server, just for fun..
4 Med slots =
Considering that you would need a few hardeners and 1-2 booster or 1 booster and 1 amp... no go

4 mids on apoc ? hmmm
xl booster II, boost amp, 2x invul
and in the lows, one damage control, rest PDS II ... could be fun

More useful before the stacking nerf where that was actually very feasible in large fleet ops because it gave you the ability to max out damage. Now there is no reason not to go locking/tracking in med slots with damage/tank combo in lows. ---
