New details on the scan disruptor.
https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=310620&find=unread
Combine that 30km disruptor radius with gridFu and defensive bubbles w/ ceptors and deckloaking cans on edges, and you can literally hide supercapital fleets, both frmn D-scan and from visual confirmation (pocket grids, L-shaped grids, etc). their eyes warp in, lands in bubble on adjacent grid, your ceptors kill it, and the eyes never gets visual confirmation of fleet.
Can hide DED ratters and set up ambushes in DED plexes.
Can hide fleet composition in Sleeper sites.
The best part is, if you spam 30+ of these in random safe spots in a wormhole, youre virtually unprobable in your marauder/carrier whatever.
Nice.
PS: now you can microjump whole subcap fleets from grid to grid to escape slowcats!

If you spam 30 of these inside a WH, then you spent 150M isk (5m per disruptor). That's a signficant amount of isk from your net profit. This doesn't include the time spend dropping 30 of these at random spots inside a WH. Time is money.

The MMJD unit requires you to be within 2500m of it in order to activate the MJD. Once you're 100km from the unit, you cannot use it again unless you intend to drop another MMJD unit. This takes alot of coordination and effort especially when everyone needs to be nearby and there is an activation timer. Gridfu can be fun but I don't think the MMJD unit will be any sort of Iwin button for the parties using it. It will help but definitely not an automatic Iwin.

To work at all, you need to know where people are warping from, you can do some drastic things with gridfu, but there are limits, and making a grid small enough for this use in all dimensions isn't doable.
Cheap count - Scout ceptors. Expensive counter - Nullified T3, which better off groups scout with already.
Also, these new anchorable structures having off grid effects is pretty problematic. Cyno jammer you can't shoot at etc... Imo, should be limited to the grid its on. |

I recommend you educate yourself about grids or bubbles, because you don't understand how at least one of them works.
Your other ideas will in theory work though. |

actually you can anchor a bubble on the edge of the grid, and if the bubble's edge protrudes over into the adjacent grid, ships will land there and not in the original grid. you can then anchor a second bubble in the second grid where ships will be landing, and when they land, they will appear inside the second bubble.
I recommend you consider this a free lesson in eve's bubble mechanics, and dont post if you dont know.

His post clearly says using the 30km radius, obviously the ships are not going to be on the same grid as the Scan Disruptor or that would defeat the point.
FW plexes will probably just see unfit frigs warping in to check first if there are ~10 in local scan disrupting
Either that or overshipping, no reason to use T1 if the enemy can't see you, no reason to risk fighting T2 in T1 if you can't see them. This is not a forum alt, this is a forum main. |

Princess Nexxala wrote:So I take it this is the "lets add stuff to decrease PvP" update? Meh Yes, it's going to be the "Count the Number of Hostiles in System and Bring Maximum Needed Force" update.... Leading to less pvp when the group using the device has a less capable fleet than you.
Might be a good bluff in your home system. Just you inside a plex with this device and your 32 afk buddies docked in station.... |

You cannot literally hide a supercapital fleet. "CCP is changing policy, and has asked that we discontinue the bonus credit program after November 7th. So until then, enjoy a super-bonus of 1B Blink Credit for each 60-day GTC you buy!"

These things are kinda cool but considering they can be easily probed, getting eyes on what's inside won't be that much of an obstacle. A bloke in a stabbed t1 frig/CovOps can blow your fairly weak cover.
I can see creative uses in hot small gang fights, perhaps, or used in large numbers to mask fleet movements. I think they'll be creatively used but in no way OP.
(I'm noticing that trend, actually. PvP'ers reading about these new mods and quick to claim 'OP!', 'Less nonconsensual PvP!' before thinking that there are some pretty easy counters to these.) |
