Hi all,
Any industrial corp knows how hard it is to keep track of corp BPO ownership, usage rights, etc etc etc
Considering that: - Personal hangars already exist and are accessible to some (auditor role). This means that adapting such a code won't be a huge pain for CCP (i hope)
- BPO ownership needs to be preserved but an industrial group also needs to be able to operate as a team. - BPO owners can't always be the CEO or a director..
A corp needs its members to feel safe when sharing their own stuff. A member needs to get stuff done and not to worry all day about BPO theft..
My suggestion: - A personal hangar that ONLY ACCEPTS BPOS OR BPCS and can be set to grant USE access to other corp members at a station? (with the exactame system rules for remote POS jobs and so on..)
Pretty please?
Yes, I can build that. |

You could take this a bit further to include the ability to create "loan contracts" for BPOs
Possibly a step further, but not sure if it'd work - the bpo/bpc after a defined time period could cancel its current job and automatically return to the originator. |

why not just make some BPCs and sell/give them to your corp mates? Novis Initiis is Recruting-á --á Ideas for Drone Improvement |

A common misperception is that industrialists don't PeeVeePee. They do, just without guns/missles/lazors, its more like Survivor style 'out copy, out build, out last.' And because, "Let them make their own BPCs, time is money friend!" The things we do today we must live with forever.... Think about it |

Because when a corp/alliance needs something built its almost always needed yesterday ;)
If you have to copy a print at a public slot for one month just so someone else can use 1 run.. meh, we probably just go play something else

You took it up a notch indeed, I love the idea. This allows a corp to pay for the usage and not risk the ownership of the bpo at the same time.

It would also be neat if BPO/BPC was more like Corporate Bookmarks.
You "add" the BPO/BPC into the Corporate Blueprints. When at a station starting a run of something, you can choose the blueprint from the Corporate Blueprints without having to have the blueprints "physically" with you.
I really doesn't make much sense that a blueprint, which in today's standards is stored in a CAD system electronically, that you need to have that with you as a pilot.
This corporate window could then have further authorization roles applied to it. Make a BPO/public available to roles in a corporation, assign access of a particular BPO/BPC to a particular member, ... etc.
Lastly, for ownership, whomever adds the BPO/BPC to the Corporate Blueprints would be the owner and can remove the BPO/BPC at any time unless said BPO/BPC is being used. The BPO/BPC would be managed by the corporation, but they would be managing shared assets. If the corporation wants the BPO/BPC as ownership, they can buy it from the member or the member can donate it.
Cheers, Mamu |

It works exactly like you described it except for the part where a member can add or remove his own BPOs. As we stand now the corp always owns everything or nothing. There is never any guarantee for members unless they sell their BPOs to the corp. the best you can get is a promise that it will be sold back to you. And the lockdown system makes no impact anyway, the corp still has to own it.
You hit the nail on the head - this is exactly what I wanted to say, and you explained it better. Kudos Yes, I can build that. |

Don't get me wrong - I'm sorry for the upcoming troll but Its picking at my brain, please read and take any conclusions you like in the end:
- Do any fleet members lend you ammo if you run out or tell you to go get your own stash? - Do any fleet members let you use a replacement ship from whatever SRP or demand that you buy new ships every time? - Do any fleet members use whatever resources they have to help you win a battle or leave you to your own luck?
- Do you even know the name of the pilots who built all the stuff your fleet is using? ( I'm just being picky now)
In other words: PVP/PVE can be played AS A TEAM on any occasion.
One could argue that here must be room for backstabbing and whatnot, sure, I agree. But losing a few bilion when one ship pops is not the same as losing hundreds of billions when some 0,1 m3 items get stolen.
Anyway, we do make BPCs too Yes, I can build that. |
