Er... wut?
If it's an object in space, it should be possible to have it on the overview.
If it's an object in space that tries to kill you, it should MOST DEFINITELY be possible to have it on the overview. Period. |

To be honest i really can't remember if it was fixed, or i just got use to them not showing in overview, but i think it was fixed shortly after the release. They spawn, warp scram you, the containers explode and they warp off, it's all takes 10-15 sec, so it's not a huge problem not seeing them in overview.
They are not standard pirate rats, if they don't show up in overview it could be because of the filter settings. I'm a relatively respectable citizen. Multiple felon perhaps, but certainly not dangerous. |

I would agree, except that the expansion wasn't built around ghost sites at all. Well the trailer for the expansion featured ghost sites, and it's ghost sites that they are advertising currently on youtube for Eve so it seems like CCP advertising thinks that it was the cornerstone of the expansion at least.
Zaknussem wrote:The second time I got blasted by the rats that spawn in-site, because they used the dubious tactic of NOT SHOWING UP ON THE OVERVIEW.
I checked my overview settings, everything relevant was ticked. They should have appeared. Unless they're rogue Concord Billboards or spiteful asteroids looking for payback.
If you think the rats not showing up on the overview is not a problem, keep in mind that the hacking window is this large, bloated window that takes up way too much screen space. I also got popped by the rats that didn't show up on the overview. The next site I cloaked and motored off into the distance until the rats spawned and I right clicked on one and added it to the overview. However the overview does not actually contain a setting for this rat so I can't tell you what it was.
I've spent the last few minutes hunting around for ways to access this information from the data files that CCP saves but they seem to have gone to considerable trouble to make it hard to do. Exporting the overview settings doesn't work. Honestly kind of annoyed at CCP right now. It really should not be this difficult to document such a poorly implemented feature.
If someone cares to tell me how to extract this information from CCP's named files then I'll tell you what the overview code of the rat that I toggled is. |

The question is who wants ascendancy implants? i just don't see the market (compared to, lets say, slaves or crystals). Depots is kinda the same. Wetu specs are so it's not spectacular, Yurt might be a bit better - but still, it is a very niche market.
Only thing is that the 'materials' prices are held up by NPC buy orders atm (i think i remember reading something to that effect). |

So are they good or just not used?
I'm just back to the game from a longish break, and the loot-spew thing caused my jaw to fall open. It's exactly what I would choose to do to make something pointlessly difficult. Add to that the pointless circuit board interface where no interface existed before, and you have a double load of crap. CCP have converted a simple process into a time consuming and seemingly pointless activity.
I'm yet to find a ghost site, but my enthusiasm for exploration has waned considerably following these changes.
loot-spew? wtf were they thinking...?

I feel like a lot of people would buy ascendancies if they didn't require hundreds of millions in PI materials to build. Their base cost is just above what people are willing to pay in decent numbers. This in turn devalues the blueprints and ghost sites as a whole.
As for the mobile depots, wetu is useless by design. They would justify their existence better if higher meta levels meant smaller volume when packaged in your cargo. That is actually something people would pay for. "CCP is changing policy, and has asked that we discontinue the bonus credit program after November 7th. So until then, enjoy a super-bonus of 1B Blink Credit for each 60-day GTC you buy!"

Dear god my freighter pilots could use some ascendancy sets. |

They are good, but there is a risk of losing the ship you take into them, so be careful.
Also, use a cargo scanner to see inside the crates and only hack the ones with prime loot.
You most often won't be able to hack all of the crates and time is really important. There is a suggestion in Forums & Ideas that will make it harder for griefers to grief missioners. Unique Mission Item Theft Rebalance

I pass some by almost every day in my roaming around, mostly because I don't have a fit to do the clicky game. The ones I -do- find when in a probing ship are meh; get one can open, contains mere scraps of Villard Wheels or the R.Db stuff, and the rest go boom. Really not worth getting excited over. They're a different type of NPC rats; you have to add them. "Blow it all on Quafe and strippers." --- Sorlac |

Found another site. Two types of rats spawned eventually Serpentis Watcher and Serpentis Warden.
Right clicking on the rats identified them as "Ghost Sites Serpentis Crui8ser" and they could be added to the overview via right-click. However there is no actual entry on the overview settings for them so I don't think that you can add them in-game without right clicking on the actual ship.
I am fairly sure that the ones I saw previously were Guristas so each race has its own overview entry and, presumably, harder sites will spawn battleships so you'd have to add those separately as well. |

I had the same problem with the rats not showing in my overview, but it seems to work now. See my thread in the issues and workaround forums: https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&find=unread&t=306632

Ive done a few of them in a helios. I usually cherry pick the can and then GTFO out of there. The best drop that i had so far was the "yurt" mobile depot BPC. The implants are way too expensive for my taste in terms of manufacturing while the mobile depots are really cheap to build and go for quite a nice amount of ISK. |

A few days ago I was exploring a high sec dead-end pocket and happened to notice 3 Angel Ghost Sites located within a couple of jumps from each other.
Due to the lack of available info pertaining to these sites coupled with players posting threads about high DPS resulting in ship loss, I contacted a friend to help me run the sites. Neither of us had ever run Ghost Sites before and didn't know what to expect.
My friend had two shield logistic Osprey's to support my DPS Loki. He maintained 25 km range from the cans due to rumors of massive DPS within a 10km blast range. My Loki normally has between 80 to 90 percent resists across the board with over 750 shield point boost every 3.2 seconds. With dual Logi's fleeted we figured it was a good set up.
Since the rats are basically ghosts that don't show on the overview and due to the mini hacking game filling most of the screen, my friend was the lookout and would notify me when rats warped into the site.
We warped to 0 at first site to see 4 cans sitting about 25km range from each other, I hacked one can, half dozen rats warp in, scrammed me, destroyed the cans and then warped out. The whole ordeal lasted a couple of minutes max. Both of us were sitting there wide eyed saying WTF?
Both my friend and I had to manually add the ghost rats to our overview at the first site.
At the second site I was able to hack two cans before the ghost rats showed up who then scrammed one of the Logi's. At the third site I was able to hack three cans before the ghost rats showed up who once again scrammed my Loki.
The rats also took a few shots at me before they warped out. At the first two sites I didn't really notice much damage from the destroyed cans since the explosion happened while traveling to the next can. At the 3rd site I was still hacking and looting when the cans were destroyed resulting in 1313 DPS.
