I signed back in after 6 months away (due to unexpected personal emergency) and realized that the Outpost where I had based my time was how in hostile hands.
I have 45 ships, including two capitals at the outpost. I estimate around 50-70 billion in assets.
I guess after the station was turned over, the region seems a bit vacant. The whole regional market is seems only about 10-20 billion, making it a bit unlikely I'd have much chance of selling this gear.
Any suggestion for getting items out of the region? I guess I need to figure out how to join this alliance?
Too bad... I'm not sure I like them very much. :-/ |

They probably won't take you if it's just to recover assets. I'd suggest selling them off at slightly cheap prices, accept a 5-10 bil isk loss and get what you can. As most likely story otherwise is a gank on the first valuable undock and then they laugh at you. |

I'm up for 6 months of repeatedly listing obscure rigged support ships for sale without a buyer, I wager. :-)

Never heard about a hard minimum offline period requirement but generally yes, a GM will move your char and one ship and its contents to the nearest NPC station. I assume the important thing (besides having been at least some time offline) is if you quit before the station changed owner to prevent player abuse. Forum-unbanned since 2011.10.20.

It would help if you could give a clue where the station is, or who holds it. Much of sov-null is carved up into a handful of large coalitions, which due to the current war, means a lot of groups have blue standings (and hence docking rights) in a lot of places. Given a few people have offered to help (I will add my name to that list), its likely someone can access that station with ease. Given you say the station was lost in the last six months, I would guess its in the Fountain-Delve-Querious area, in which people like me and James can easily help (as those regions are now goon-friendly), the ex-Solar/IRC areas in the East, in which case you want someone in Nulli Secunda, Northern Coalition, or their many, many allies, or in the South ex-HBC areas, which might be a touch trickier as you'll need to speak to the Russians now living there, but due to the war, us and our allies are blue to a lot of them, so might be able to help in that case too (although, can't guarantee that without checking).
You certainly have options. |

Nobody says you have to LIKE them to join them if it means getting that much stuff out of there safely. You might find after joining with them, they might not be so bad after all. I've had this happen before also. In fact I still have a bunch of stuff in one of the hostile outposts I used to call home. This gives me an idea. I might be looking into joining them myself soon, lol. Bringing WAR and TERROR to a system near you.... SOON! |

Like others have said above, petition a GM and they will move you and the ship you're in to the nearest low sec station if you've been AWOL for at least 6 or so months during which time the ownership changed (Heard it was Jita for some, but i dunno, never had to do this myself...). Be nice, and act cool and it might just be your lucky day. I've also heard this is a ONE TIME get out of jail kinda card, so don't mess up like this again. As for your assets... I'm not gonna make any remarks on how incredibly dumb it was for you to store that much assets in a station that can and will change ownership eventually (Seems i just did, lol). Hope you learned a lesson.
Oh! I almost forgot. If you have JDC 5 and an alt able to light a cyno, maybe you can get a capital out yourself if you're in range of low sec. Camp the log in screen at downtime (like literally, try to log in every 5 seconds). And hope local is empty.
And if you REALLY want and/or need your assets, the only way i see you getting them back is by joining the alliance that owns that station. |

If this is petitionable, then I think that is BS.
I don't know how many times I have seen corp/alliance members log into the game after being gone for an extended period of time that whine in the chat rooms about how all their stuff is in PB and why the heck are we in Immensea now.
If you are living in NULLSEC, and have assets in NULLSEC, then it is in your best interest to check in once in a while. You don't even have to log in, check corp/alliance/game forums to see what is going on ingame and act accordingly.
If you are going to take a leave of absence move your stuff to low/high sec. But to just check out of the game entirely for 6 months and expect everything to be accessible is not realistic.
Bottom line. If you play in null. PLAY in NULL. Otherwise GTFO and play in EMPIRE. |

This whole "petition" thing for extracting assets is new to me. If you want to minimize your losses, I would suggest being prepared to spend a few weeks to get it out.
Best way is really to do some research and get your characters into a corporation that has docking rights, hopefully without letting it slip or become obvious that you're trying to do so. I know quite a few corps in that situation would accept someone just to awox them if they knew they were applying under false pretenses. However, with the blue doughnut being what it is, you can easily apply to someone that lives far away from your assets and have no trouble.
Paying someone to get it out will involve taking a haircut of sorts, as that is a lot of work and a lot of collateral. Firesales are pretty reliable, particularly for ships, as they're a pain to move both to null and out of it, and do you really even want to take all of them back to empire anyway? I'm not a big fan of large hangar clearout-type things.
Whatever you do is likely to be a combination of all the above. Sell what you can, courier contract out what you can, petition a move with whatever fits. If you have a few accounts, its risky but straightforward to scout the undock while cynoing out your carrier. "CCP is changing policy, and has asked that we discontinue the bonus credit program after November 7th. So until then, enjoy a super-bonus of 1B Blink Credit for each 60-day GTC you buy!"

Yea, i've seen GMs do this before, and it is a "one time get out of jail free card so don't ask again" type deal for someone who has been gone for a longish (6+ months) period of time.
It's a good thing, EVE is just a game and sometimes things happen beyond a subscribers control. When i had a death in the family that caused me to take some very serious time away from the game my old alliance was in the middle of a war. When i returned months later I petitioned on advice of a friend and was truly surprised and delighted when the GM moved my stuff to low sec. But even then they said "this is a one time thing, don't ever ask us again" lol. |

So 2 caps? If you have a jump clone in the station with one of them, you're in luck.
Load up the first one with stuff and pilot that one out yourself. When you get to destination, you can jump clone back and get the second one out.
Also be aware that you will not be able to use the fitting services there. But you can use the market. If there is a mobile depot for sale in that station and you really need to refit, I strongly suggest grabbing one.
You can petition 1 fully loaded ship. I strongly suggest making it a carrier or something with lots of space. So it is possible, assuming the GM doesn't think to ask about how you already got 2 carriers out, that you could get 3.
Also, if you really need to access a ship-based corp hanger, I imagine making your own 1-man corp should give you access again. But never tried it. So cannot c/d. Free Ripley Weaver! |

Talk to the diplo of the alliance/corp who owns the station currently, and explain the situation. Chances are they will be sympathetic as many have gone through the same thing at one time or another. Be as open as possible and don't start acting like a douche. You will be surprised how many helpful people you will find. Frog as much out as possible (most alliances will let the frogs dock with permission).
If the above doesn't work, Jump out to a jump clone and leave a clone and assets in station. Chances are at some point the station will get flipped to another holder who may be more helpful. Patience and good manners are your friends in situations like this. Ive been able to get stuff out of red stations with some nice conversations. Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings? |
