A guy stole from the corp I was in, so I placed a small token bounty on him many many many many many many many many moons ago.
Needless to say he's gone on to lead a life of crime and has a very large bounty continually on him.
I was unsubscribed for months. When I came back I had received dozens of notifications about bounty collections on the guy, even while my account was innactive.
And... I'm still getting these notifications. Surely my 100,000 was claimed long ago.
I've searched high and low and see no way to stop getting these notices. The bounty office shows the bounty I have placed, but there is no way to see how much of it has paid out, nor to disable notifications, delete the bounty, retire the bounty, etc...
At any rate, I would like my Notification tab to flash only for things I may have a currnt interest in. I'm not interested in a tiny bounty I placed on a guy ages ago, nor every time a new bounty from probably hundreds of players have placed on him is collected.
Some people may find that information useful to them, so it should at least be an option to turn off such notifications.

I'm not sure whether you can turn that off, but you can right-click the section and 'mark all as read', so at least they don't show up as unread notifications.

So it's not possible then.
Hmmm.
Well I'm going to predict then that this will be remidied in a future update, since it's clearly a flaw.

After seeing my bounty target hit a 0 bounty, followed a few days later by more bounty notifications, I sent in a petition. The response was that it's a known bug.
Strangely the notifications have stopped, though the killboard is saying he's still losing ships and pods. So either he has stopped earning more bounties or CCP did fix it for me. |

Look on the bright side. Those comedians that put 100k bounties on everyone in Jita local will have full mailboxes for a long time to come.

I love poetic justice. CCP, debuff Barges, or buff Ganking. Either will do for me, but we need more Yaaar! in this game lest it become WoW in Spaaaaace! -á~ Me |

I too suffer from this.
Someone slightly annoyed me, so I put a joke bounty on them. Then they joined RVB... https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=238931 - an idea for a new form of hybrid PVE/PVP content. An enemy is just a friend that you stab in the front. |

kind of amusing that the bounty you placed has caused you more annoyance than to the person you placed it on.
Not exactly the signs of a good bounty system

Hey, Aaaarrgg! Long time, no gank! I'll have to see about irritating a few folks, so you can go chasing me for fun and profit again. CCP, debuff Barges, or buff Ganking. Either will do for me, but we need more Yaaar! in this game lest it become WoW in Spaaaaace! -á~ Me |

The easiest way for you to remove the bounty notifications, is to continually kill your target until the bounty is exhausted.
Use the ammo produced by one of our handy dandy industrialists to put the boot to your target. Kill'em in the fields and on the mountains and on the sea and in space. Become his or her worst nightmare, burning that bounty off one kill at a time.
And then you may find peace. You are the internet equivalent of a Mars bar filled with stupid. |

That almost makes it all worthwhile.
Still, I wouldn't mind a way to either turn these off, or have them expire after a set time or bounty has been collected.

I am tempted to whack a 315315 ISK bounty on you now. https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=238931 - an idea for a new form of hybrid PVE/PVP content. As long as the entire sum of YOUR bounty hasnt been claimed, youl get notifications.
If you put 100k on someone, and another person puts 1mil bounty, and he loses small stuff like frigates that pay out 100k bounties, it means it will only pull 10% of that bounty from the pool you placed. Obviously, this leads to alot of notifications as it will take quite awhile to exhaust YOUR bounty pool.
If someone has placed several hundred million in bounty on someone and you have a 100k bounty on him, obviously, its gonna take awhile. But, at some point, itl stop. |

This is how it's supposed to work, but the bounty system is bugged and flawed, I've had several 100k bounties put out and I get notifications of when they died with a 0 bounty now. I'm just patiently waiting for a patch on it. That and it's funny to see the same guy die about 20 times a day. (not exaggerating) |
