Can anyone think a good reason why you would NOT want to have an option to "PURCHASE FITTING?"
You basically click this button, all the items are added to a virtual shopping cart with prices listed, you click BUY ALL.
Why do we still have to purchase items one click at a time? |

If it buys the cheapest the guy 1 isk above him loses out on your sale. Not all stations have all items required for a fit either. Not to mention you could go to fit a frig and end up spending a billion isk on accident. Something clever |

The guy 1 ISK above wouldn't get the sale anyway. L2market.
The shopping cart would show if something's not available.
If you don't read the shopping cart and buy a bisk frig, it's your fault.
One thing that comes to my mind is someone could make a faux fitting using XML manipulation and use the feature to buy non-fitting stuff, especially now that it's possible to include cargo in fitting. But is there really any situation where that's a problem? If you want to buy fuel and all reaction inputs for all of your POSes with a single click, why shouldn't you be able to? |

You could ask the same thing about selling.
... and yes I do know you are better off shift selecting modules and reprocessing the lot into mats instead of selling them most times.
But for example if you want to sell all the minerals in your hangar at current market buy, you should be able to shift select and sell the lot. |

A lot less often when people can see what you're selling for.
Maybe there should be a confirmation message including how much ISK you have? Or have a button on the fitting screen that populates the ISK cost of the modules next to the module name which you can use before pressing 'buy'? |

Hey, just to let you know, you're posting in the wrong forum. When Bon Scott died and he appeared before St. Peter at the gates of Heaven, St. Peter looked at his record and told him he couldn't get in. Just then, God screams at Peter, "Let him in, Karen Carpenter is driving me nuts. I want to hear some music with balls. We'll haggle over the paperwork later." At least I hope that's what happened. |

What sillyness comes after this?
How about ...
Why do we still have to click the "FIT" button? If we purchase a whole fitting, the game should automatically fit it to the ship i'm sitting in, given that it's the ship of the fitting, of course!
We're not playing an arcade game. What you're asking for leads onto a road that's made of buttons which do everything for us. The lazy/spoiled/ADD/etc. will call more and more things "tedious/unnecessary effort/silly to be there" and will keep asking for buttons which remove this perceived "tedious" work. That's how it works. If done once, people will cry for more.
It's the same with the gankers ... to explain my point. The victims scream and CCP brings change.
Did the change really affect the underlying issue? No. They still get murdered! Thanks to the change they shut up for a while.
Then after said while, a new generation of victims has emerged and demands another change into the same direction. They're ignorant about the previous changes and perceive what's happening to them as some form of unbalance, which should be "adapted" or "balanced" ... right until the next time a new generation of victims emerges and demands a change in a specific direction, because it's somehow perceived as "unbalanced" and thus needs a change, etc etc ...
And all this will never stop, until there's no ganking left in highsec and it's a fluffy combat free zone. Why? Because those victims, who demand changes, completely block out the actual issue, name the human factor. Themselves.
The fact that it's their own fault, because they refuse to make decisions. They just go for what they want, which is far away from any proper decision making process. Instead, they're just following their instincts. Hoard hoard hoard, ISK ISK ISK.
You need to understand that there's a wide range of things that could be changed for you, but wouldn't be perceived as "solved" by the next generation of players. The issue here isn't the "thing" that "needed change", but the human factor !
So, if it's too "tedious" for you to buy everything you need by yourself, maybe the game is just too hard for you and you should consider trying something else. I clearly understand that we all aren't alike, so please don't understand my words as offensive and instead as an attempt to raise your personal quality of life!
Thank you so much for your attention! :D

You know... there is something like this that already exists.
1. Open your "Market Window" go to the "Quickbar" tab... 2. Open your "Fitting Window" and open the "Saved Fittings" window... 3. Drag the fit from the "Saved Fittings" window into the "Quickbar" tab... 4. Now you can shop for the fittings specific to that fit... provided they are available. Change isn't bad, but it isn't always good. Sometimes, the oldest and most simple of things can be the most elegant and effective. |

As a large scale ship reseller (purchase-> transport -> fit -> contract) I find that there are quite a few features that need to be added. I spend literally hours fitting up hundreds of ships when the process could be quickened so much. The "buy fitting" button could actually bring up a larger display box that would list the price for each component and give you an overall better breakdown of the item. Maybe give each listed item a "market graph" button on the right side of each listing that opens the sales graph for that item. Since you already have the price, and you know it is available in the station you clicked "buy fitting" for, having the market graph button would effectively give you a condensed market interaction that is designed for bulk buys for ship fittings (assuming we offer a buy X quantity field in the window). This could cover for scams and prevent being abused. The only issue left to work out is how to compensate for when the market orders that are queried are bought out before the player hits "purchase fit". You very well can't have these market orders frozen until the player pushes "purchase fit" so there must be some way to maybe set price ranges like allowing +1/-1 % or something like that to account for market orders being bought up in the middle of the query. |

Just drag your fitting from the fittings screen to the market quickbar. It's almost the same as what you're looking for, but less prone to exploits.
EDIT, sorry, I just saw someone already said this, but you seem to have ignored it. So here it is again. I just undocked for the first time and someone challenged me to a duel. Wat do?

You still have to buy the stuff one by one, which is a fact that the OP wants to see changed. If it was possible to right click the folder in the Quick Bar and have the option "Buy Fitting only/Buy Fitting and Ship", it would help a lot to make things faster. In the end you have your shopping cart where you can see all the prices and how many items you buy for each fitting part and you also have the option to check prices much like in the Details page of the market.
A problem that I see, however, is the current market mechanics for mass orders. If you want to buy 5 items of X, but there is no order in the market with 5 or more of item X in one order, you have to buy them one by one. I tried to buy the 5th expensive item in the list, but even then the market gives me the Zonk sound and buys only 1. I have not yet figured out how to solve this; and I can imagine that this is a big problem for the shopping cart.

Meh, just strike a deal with some manufacturer friends on pre-fit ship contracts. Or if your corp/alliance has an industry/building wing, you can probably get them to make you everything on specific fits that could later be placed in a viewable (but request only) tab in a POS facility. This may end up being cheaper then market purchased fittings too btw, and less vulnerable to scams. With that being said, IMO internal or corp/alliance only contracts could use an active period longer then 14 days. |

Thanks for the suggestion but what I am looking for is to improve the market experience in eve.
A shopping cart would be a welcome addition not just for fittings for ALL kinds of useful daily activities. |
