Hello everyone,
I just came back after a break from Eve and I'm loving it again. :) I started getting interested in ratting in 0.0 however, as multiple people told me it's possible to get 50m+/hr there, even when you don't have very good skills! (Like me)
At the moment I have specialised a bit in Missles, Spaceship Command, Shields and engineering. (Did this so I could use a drake with enough energy and quite high dps for Lvl 3 missions)
Could you guys please advise a low skill cost ship/fitting which can perform well in 0.0 ratting? I was told to come here and ask for a bit of advice about it, since I am completely clueless. :/ I would prefer to use a bit of the skills I already have though, as I would not want to start training all over again for a ship. :P
I am really sorry for my bad english, it is not my mother language. Hope I can get some answers, would help me a ton! :) Need a reliable source of income. |

50 million an hour is quite easy to do ratting. A drake is fine for this purpose, depending on where you will be hunting you just adjust the shield mods. If you can use T2 missle launchers even better, Drake gets a 10% bonus to kinetic damage so if you happen to be in an area with rats that suffer from kinetic even better. Throw 3 ballistic damage mods in low and perhaps a hydralic bay thruster/ calcification rig in rigging and go hunting Doesnt hurt to put a warp core stab in low if you are unsure about locals. |

It depends on which region will you be ratting in (i.e. which NPC faction rats), and obviously on whether you're ratting in friendly sov, or ninja-running in hostile space.
Either way, if you're looking for something that's low cost and low effort, you can't go very wrong with the AFKtar, for which there is a decent guide over at Ripard Teg's blog. You can reasonably downgrade to a Navy Vexor while you train TII ship skills. |
