So I got my hands on a rattlesnake and want to start grinding standings and ultimately level 4 missions for ISK. But I have no idea which agents shall I work with. Which space does my rattlesnake good against rats? How do I figure out which agents send me to which space? Please don't guide me to eve-survival, means nothing to me at this point. Ty in advance. |

A lot of people would recommend doing missions for Sisters of Eve because of the rewards (new battleship in next patch) amongst other things. However, due to the popularity of those agents, it's gank central around there at the moment. |

I would suggest working the corps of the level 4 Epic Arc starter agents which require +5.00 standing for access. If using Corporation standing for access, the Faction must be above -2.00 standing.
Amarr Corporation: Ministry of Internal Order
Caldari Corporation: Expert Distribution
Gallente Corporation: Impetus
Minmatar Corporation: Brutor Tribe

That's why I suggested working for one or all of those corps. When you get above +5.00 corp standing and have the Faction above -2.00 standing, you can then access the starting agent of the level 4 epic arc.

my recomandations would be to run security missions and check the lp store to run for someone where u can get good money for your lp's. And i would also try to avoid main mission hubs that way dangers of ninjas and suicide is also reduced. |

Use eve agents side or dotlan map to find out where level 3 and level 4 agents are. Rattlesnake is good in its versality - you can always adjust damage type. But it is true, that Sisters of Eve missions gives now good money, so Simela (L3) and Apanake(L4) is a reasonable place to work in, IMHO. |

If you use missile boats or plan on getting a marauder in the future, I find that Sasoutikh is pretty nice. Relatively quiet and has two level 4 agents for the Theology Council there. Also, there are Balginia in Minmatar space, and Torrinos in Caldari space to look into as they have a good agent distribution in the area.
I can't vouche for Torrinos though, never been there and its adjacent to null space, so you may occasionally get one of those evil pirates coming through, But the other two areas are decent.
IDK of any similar places in gallente territory but would love to find one myself as many of my freinds crawl around there.
EDIT: Just noticed you mentioned a Rattler.. those are pretty general purpose and do ok anywhere you chose, not really excelling in one region over another, imo. |

rattler is probably your best and safest ship to do soe in as it can be buffer fit out the wazoo and so long as you dont fit faction or ded space or officer items you will be 100% safe.
remember buffer + resists is your friend agains cuicide gankers. just dont use a mtu or drones set to agressive. |

The short story is you can mission for anyone. My best advice would be to do a little research on the LP store of a couple of factions. You can make the LP you earn in missions go a bit further if you find a couple of items that are selling for a decent Isk/LP ratio.
Alternatively, you can run missions to get standings (only super useful if you do a lot of trading) for trade hub stations to reduce the cost of doing business in those stations, i.e. caldari navy.
Another option would be to find a couple of L4 agents in an area that you want to run, and go for those. |

One upside of missions is that they're available throughout hisec. However if missioning is your primary thing, and then you should mission where the best rewards are. That means finding corporations that have valuable loyalty points. Navy corporations are everywhere and offer level 4 security missions all over, but consequently their loyalty points are devalued. However, there are also other considerations to picking a corporation. If the coporation has stations with medical facilities, they can provide jumpclones. If the corporation is one of the four on DMCs list, they provide access to their respective faction's epic arcs, which can be rather important. If you're interested in R&D agents or have the skills to use them, then you need standings with an R&D corp to access those agents. You also might want to gain standings to get tax-free refining at a station, or to reduce taxes and fees trading at a major trade hub. I would suggest Chemal Tech for Gallente, Poksu Mineral Group for Caldari, Joint Harvesting for Amarr, and Sebiestor Tribe for Minmatar. Why you ask? Because of Nexus chips. |

Also a gank hub. But not so much Rattlers, since they can T2 fit a big buffer. One other drawback to that system is the adjacent system known by my guys as "B*stard Barkrik" owing to its ridiculous diameter (140AU mission hauls are common and understandably unpopular in a BS).

My advice is to choose an NPC corp where the standing actually matters (like trade hub owners).
Then, you will be able to get the full benefits of running the missions (tax breaks are given for higher standings with the trade hub owners). There is a suggestion in Forums & Ideas that will make it harder for griefers to grief missioners. Unique Mission Item Theft Rebalance

New Mission Runner Quick Plan
1) Pick Faction (Gallente or Caldari) 2) Buy Tags to use with Data Center Agents to gain very quick level 3 agents. (Look up Repair Plan to find agents) No need to run lower level mission agents really. As an example, when I make a new character for standings, I just buy tags for both Amarr and Caldari data center agents and each end up helping the other with standings and my toon is running level 3 agents without firing a shot, or very close to it. 3) Find System Station with Multiple Agents in one station. This makes turning down missions much easier. 4) Turn down any Missions Against other factions no matter how much ISK they pay... You'll thank me later. 5) Switch Factions once you get enough Lvl 4 missions under your belt and you can work for any empire agent.

Your shields give the best resistance to kinetic/explosive, I would suggest an enemy of the minmatar people, like amarr space. It will be easier to absorb the damage given they mostly shoot your highest resists at you.
A few things to note about missions - the lower the true security status of a system the higher your pay will be, so finding a nice .5 or .6 system without lowsec next door, that has 1-3 agents in-system or within a jump should be your "end goal" for blitzing missions for cash. I would take the suggestion of working with the standings so that you can do some epic arcs and such, unless you're comfortable grinding lvl 2/3 for standings.
Hope it helps.

I believe you are mistaken. The most common rats (Read: Blood Raiders) in Amarr space shoot EM/Therm. Obviously EM/Therm are your resist holes as a shield tanking rattler, so in terms of your natural shield resists, Amarr space is NOT where you want to go if you have very low tanking skills.
On the other hand, I do believe that Amarr mission rats still drop the best loot, and therefore Amarr space is the most profitable to mission in if you're looking to salvage your lvl 4's as well.
It's a bit of a tradeoff, really, but as a rattler pilot you can still get excellent resists against EM/Therm strong rats if you have good skills. I'd say as long as you take it easy for the first little while and don't draw any full room aggro from any big missions you'll be fine. Can't really go wrong in a Rattler unless you do something drastically wrong. |
