maybe theres an extensive thread about this somewhere, but searching on MoMa comes up with a lot of bad and misspelled "your momma" jokes. So hereby my post:
Ive seen the short footage of Eve Online being in the museum of Modern Arts.
And there was this animation of users loggin in with different timezones. I'm really curious about that animation (and the rest ofcourse) but i am in no way possible to visit.
Is there anything i can find online ?

I did a cursory search of MOMA's website and came up with these two links. I'm not sure what you want is at either, but it's a good place to start some detective work. Bear in mind, places like MOMA don't have a very sophisticated online presence.

hmm... a reason to schlep across town to MoMa
might have to check that out although I seriously detest the current trend of public museums doing exhibitions on the work of active companies selling a product. Museums are museums, not malls or window displays.

MOMA is known for having one of the most excellent and educationally oriented websites about art, even making available all works from their collections available, not just what is in current exhibitions.
I'd give the site another look-see. "He has mounted his hind-legs, and blown crass vapidities through the bowel of his neck."-á - Ambrose Bierce on Oscar Wilde's Lecture in San Francisco 1882 |

The museum design departments pretty much are displaying commercially available products. They have since the 1930s. IT has nothing to do with selling anything at all. Its not a real art exhibit until a velour blacklight poster of Unsuccessful at Everything riding a tiger while holding a subway sandwich (with pickles) adorns the walls.

I disagree industrial and modern design is totally different from what I'm talking about.
but even so, take for instance the Cartier exhibit at Cooper Hewitt, nothing on display outside of its current line of high end baubles. pretty sad representation of the designs of a company that's been in business for over a century.
or that recent Punk thing over at the Met, nothing but current punk styled fashion having little to nothing to do with the actual rise of the punk culture and fashions.
but enough of that, this isn't the place or time
there is a growing push back in the community against "promotion for hire" by museums

/puts away old soapbox Friday 4PM-8PM is 'pay whatever admission you wish' at MoMA. That's a good day to go. You might still feel infuriated when you leave, but it won't be because of the admission you paid. (Just joking. The floor with Impressionist and Expressionist art is nice). |
