Hello I was wondering if I can turn off the text that shows up next to a target in space? Like if I look at a stargate, I see the icon with the name of the stargate next to it, also the distance. I just want it to not tell me the name. If this is possible please let me know. |

Check video tutorial for overview settings on youtube, I don't know what language you speak so try to find it by yourself, It will help. |

I'm not seeing anything specific to what I am looking for, would you be able to find one for me? |

I don't think what you want is possible.
There are overview editors that allow you to change the text that appears in space when you click on an object, one of these may allow you to change the text to how you want.
Unfortunately I have just done a quick search to find one and come up blank. They all seem to have disappeared.
If you are any good with the whole editing files you could export the overview setting and see if you can change them. Be careful not to break the EULA though. |

You could also ask in the Eve Tech. Lab part of the forums. Lots of clever people in there. |

You could use that overview pack, and mess with it to suit your needs. |

I'm still fairly new so I would have no idea how to use this to fit my needs. |

May I ask why do you want to remove name of an object in space? Just because or for some particular reason? I am not my skills but... http://eveboard.com/pilot/Schmata_Bastanold |

I don't think I ever saw any info about hiding names of celestials on brackets so I would even say it is not possible at all. With ships you can do it, there is Ships tab in overview settings and you can uncheck check box with name but planets, belts, moons, gates - they all will be unaffected by this setting. I also checked it in-game just to be sure but I didn't find anything that could do this.
My advice is to stop paying attention to such irrelevant details. If you find this annoying wait until you discover "exploration" minigame and loot spew. Or process of setting up POS or manufacturing or PI. It may seem important now but in big scheme of things this is not even worth pixels lost on writing about it.
Also, having those names on brackets will help you when clicking on overview would mean losing precious second to select warp destination when chasing your target. Very often what you see in one place is bunch of brackets for planet, moons, belts and stargate and you see them at one point because they are either very far away and so close to each other or they are at different distances from you but along one line of sight. And then you hover cursor over that bunch of circles, triangles and squares and they get displayed as vertical list and you have to decide which one to chose to warp to. Without seeing names of those object I wish you good luck in successful pursuit of possible victim. I am not my skills but... http://eveboard.com/pilot/Schmata_Bastanold |
