What if people in WIS could activate Valkyrie as a minigame in eve (or atleast launch it somehow). yet people without an eve subscription could also play the game (like a 1 time payment). the module itself would be like an Add-on.
What if there was an Eve integration where eve players could bet on a weekly tournament in Valkyrie?

This is something I've considered as well. There would be nothing to keep people from betting with ISK, even if there were no technical link between the games.
But what about an official Valkyrie tournament similar to the Alliance Tournament or the New Eden Open? I don't think that would be too far out of scope for CCP to manage. == Furious Angels [FRANG] is recruiting! == * Gallente FW & PvE * Friendly, mature environment * Alcohol encouraged |

They actually wanted to do this in DUST. I think They wanted to call it Gladiator Arena. And at some point CCP even said you could watch the tournament from your EVE client directly!
The second part would be cool, but I don't think it's realistic... unless with Twitch integration?
If they wanted to do it in DUST (with EVE integration) Why wouldn't they want to do it with Valkyrie?
P.S. They haven't done that in DUST |

I want Valkyrie to be a separate "game" than EVE, in that you should have to exit EVE and launch it to play it, but I want it in the same universe. I'd love to see WiS progress to a point where Valkyrie players could walk around in the same environment as EVE players, though the Valkyrie players would obviously see the environment in VR. |

I think the betting would be easy, it would be kind of like the market, but different. watching it will be harder, but the TV in the CQ which you can mod to watch movies so maybe when WIS is revisited or something. i would love to watch the AT from my CQ. |

for Walking in Station (WiS) I think this is the future for EVE universe. We will have 4 products: EVE Online, DUST 514, EVE: Valkyrie, and Incarna
First 3 will be separate games. It will be military triangle: EVE is like navy in big ships and submarines. DUST will be on the grounds with solders and tanks and Valkyrie be like jet planes in the sky. Everyone feels and plays differently, but they all have something in common, and one of the thing will be Incarna. Everyone can walk in station and chat, play board games, watch tv and do other stuff.
But everything is just in my mind - nothing official |

That is a fantastic vision, I hope it comes to pass as I'd love it. Dumbing down of Eve Online will result in it's destruction... |

Great Idea I would just really like to play my toon from EVE into Valkyrie ingame that would really separate EVE from all other space games and as the king it deep down deserves to be. |

Or, maybe just have the major trade hubs be WIS. Bring a lot more content to the game if we could open up shops. |

Complete speculation follows
first a bit of lore....
The Valkyrie clones are a new variation on the dust merc that operates on a different speed to standard mercs or pod pilots.
The reactions of a Valkyrie clone are so fast that they can physically respond as fast if not faster than a cybernetically enhanced and drig using pod pilot, wearing a new super lightweight flight suit but capable of transmitting limited data at the instant of death making them immortal (of cause this is new eden).
As such the standard day to day life in new eden is almost stationary to them....
NPE/Highsec/PVE
You training consists of mission arcs, storylines and missions against opposing factions launching from a new type of NPC ship seen in EVE in highsec (to pod pilots would appear similar to the agents that float in space but maybe in an freashly designed NPC ship) or from a station. CREST would kick in here - On the EVE side the pod pilots near the NPC ship or station would see an incredible fast launch animation of a fighter wizzing off into space.... At this point the Valkyrie client would receive a snapshot of the grid he lunched into from the TQ node show all ships currently there... to the Valkyrie pilot this would be visible for a second then gradually fade as his awareness accelerates to its optimum for piloting the super fast fighter he is on. The training missions could involve flying in historical eve battles down to standard types of combat missions similar to flightsims of old.
PVP Highsec - Could you use the new fighters in highsec? Perhaps make the T2 version of each races 3rd battleship able to launch them, it would loose all its guns slots and cargo but the space has been converted using the same tech as goes into secure containers to make it bigger than it should be in the inside so it can field 5 standard fighters at any one time.
Lowsec/Nullsec of course fighters would launch from a staging BS/carrier/super carrier in these circumstances.
In PVP - Each EVE ship that is capable of launching fighters must mark itself as a staging point either by a new module or a new menu/radial option. Crest then communicates with Valkyrie the readiness of the ships and the fighters are placed in the launch bays. The eve pilot then receives a new menu to issue combat instructions to the Valkyrie pilots should he need to (he can transmit target info, request assistance against enemy fighters etc). The EVE pilots once again see animations of the fighters launching from the staging ships.
At this point the only things the Valkyrie pilots are aware of is each other as they are all moving in the same accelerated timestream and the initial EVE snapshot that occurs on launch and fades. However this would occur every minute or so (again using crest) before fading away to give the impression of being part of something more. If the pilot of the staging ship in eve issues a command to attack another EVE ship this ship becomes a permenant feature of the Valkyrie game grid until it is destroyed. If it warps your wing of fighters gets the option to warp after it (similar to fighters pursuing prey as they do now).
I feel this 'snapshot' gets around the issue of TiDi somewhat as it allows the Valyrie game to exist separately yet receive data about instructions and the environment in EVE in which the fighters currently exist. In TiDi impacted systems the only thing that slows down is the awareness snapships of the eve grid and the instructions from the eve staging ships. the valkyrie pilots are essentially on specialist nodes that do not get impacted by TiDi Code and can continue to play, The EVE grid snapshot I keep talking about could be produced by a similar crest output to a web app that was created in which you could rewatch parts of the last alliance tournament (ill try and find a link). Just maybe with output every minute to the valyrie servers then let those servers distribute the data to the Valkyrie clients so as not to add to much load onto the EVE dedicated nodes.
Maybe a new skillset that allows for eve pilots to create these new clones as jump clones not sure how you would skip between applications if its a separate client mind you.....

Integration between EVE and Valkyrie, the first CCP title not marketed in CAPS (WoD doesn't count)
A narrative
Valkyrie pilots strap into the fighters, ready to engage the enemy. They launch from their Hel Supercarrier, confidence and righteous fury their wingmen. The Hel capsuleer activates a full rack of smartbombs. He did it for the lulz.

Oh yes and while you are making this on PC please include the Carbon Character creator, captains quarters and door (just to tease us that it might open one day ) Flame away.
Quite of meaty speculation, but very cool, nonetheless. |
