I got a phd in ebilness and a masters in psychotics so you should all listen to me now and give me lots of attention cause I'm about to write a couple pages of rants and whines and prove beyond any and all certainty that istvaan is not only the lowest form of life but also the most ripe pimple ever spotted on a warthogs butt...
Should there be a doubt in your mind that i am in fact supreme knowledge and righteousness impersonated i will have to keep writing pages of rants and whines until you all believe me!
Ps: I get really emotional when i see a scammer online >_< |

I can testify to enjoying killing other players, but this is due to having no mercy shown to me. I enjoy shooting, Ransoming and generally ruining peoples day on EVE but at the end of the day its my money and it does seem a little harsh but i dont usually do it for the sake of it. if i need ISK i will pirate. But i dislike people saying people get some kind of perverted pleasure. i mean i play the game and PvP because i enjoy the challenge of fighting another human player and am amazed at the idea that this person is somewhere in the world and i have just encountered them and either won or lost a battle.
I mean i lose more than i win and often get slapped back down if i attack someone but in the end its just a game =] PvP is probably the best thing. and the reason i enjoy killing the miners and stuff is normally based on a stereotype you all know.. the carebear :D

Nah, I don't take my games too seriously. I just get a sick pleasure out of arguing against the popular viewpoint. I knew I was gonna get ripped a new one by the Istvaan fanbois (maybe Istvaan alts? can never tell ).
I don't really think PVP fits into what I was talking about tho. At least I don't see it as the same. When you PVP folks, yes, you get the enjoyment of blowing people up and the like, but it all revolves around the game mechanics and how the game was intended to be played. Also. . .you don't spend a whole year (or whatever insane amount of time Ist is reported to have spent on his scams) going out of your way to PVP the same person and cause them misery. You also don't come back as an alt to PVP the person again and again. At least I hope you don't.

First, i dont care what you study. Really, I dont. Then, funny thing is, PR people are frantically pouncing every last little new way of advertising their stuff, because people are just ignoring them. For finding these new opportunites you have to be creative, you have to actually find a new way, which the OP did on several occasions. This leads me to the conclusion, that youll never be one of those, because you cant see creativeness even when its right before your eyes.
then, of course EVERY single comm major will earn millions a year because there are so few people studying it.
and an engineer who is good at what he does will earn 30k$ a year. Not even if he patents a new way to make an engine run with less gas or something... (last 2 paragraphs were sarcasm... just in case)

erm... and why should i do that? where have is said something that tries to argue that point? where did a attack you for not saying that? what point did this have for my "argument"?
Guess i just dont like the jealous know-it-alls that try to diminish the fun for the rest of us. i, for one, enjoyed reading about these stories. and if you think, as a comm major i might add, that recreational activities dont have any importance for the people doing them, then, well, study something else? because this bit of information is very important for your trade. People are paying real money for it, so at least in the economic world, it does matter.
and i dont like those fashion words like fanboys or anything like it, least of all where they are senseless.
Anyway, meditate over your attitude a bit.

The lowest pay of anone I went to school with that became an engineer is a friend who works for penndot and makes 40k a year. Granted, Pitt is killer when it comes to engineering, in any field.
Older brother went to CMU for computer engineering(parents counldn't afford to send him to MIT), the job he just got a few weeks ago (they had him 'temp' for like 2 or 3 years), pays him an even 60k/yr. I feel really bad for any engineer who had good grades and makes 30k/yr. That's like, teacher pay (granted, I'll be happy to get 30k/yr when I start teaching).

Had I but known that the flames in this topic would be as high as they are I would have set some bread dough on my desk to rise in the heat.
Regarding Mr Shogaatsu's legendary exploits; what is left to be said? I was suitably impressed when I first heard about them and I am sure that many people learned the same important lesson about the way EVE works as I did.
Be extremely careful about whom you choose to trust.

I'm still laughing. "Communications Major". Without saying more, Istvaan there most likely earns twice as much as you do, doing a more respectable job.
I go to college myself (no major, but I take philosphy and languages atm). I've rolled with Istvaan there for a couple of years, and known him for close to four. Personally, I don't do the infiltration/thievery/scamming bit, simply because I don't have the knack for it.
Istvaan does. Oh god, Istvaan does. The fact is that most people becry this stuff as "easy", "low-down" and "playground manipulation that requires no skill". This goes for the scams as well as infiltration. Then said people might actually try it out for themselves (most don't, using their own ethical wall as a shield), and they find out it ISN'T that easy. For starters, most won't even know where or how to start. And to bag any target that isn't retarded to begin with, you have to invest some serious thought into the thing.
Anyway, Mr. Communications Major, besides the fact that your degree only proves your ability to mimic textbook clauses and prove that you're a sub-human with an aversion to real schoolwork (like me. Oh look, I'm a griefer AND I have something in common with you), you also managed to miss the point by a mile.
One of the things that makes griefing so easy to live with is the fact that the victims usually give you a reason, either before or after. Everyone in EVE has dirt, it seems, and even if they don't, any regrets you might have are whisked out the window when the target starts talking about your mom and farm animals in a rude manner.
P.s. Major in Communications. lol. ---

Edited by: Koxinga on 05/04/2006 19:22:30 Well, before this thread gets locked, I'd like to give the troll [MidnightSecretions] a cookie by paying attention to him. I have a Masters in Electrical Engineering, which means I have the most say of anyone here since this is a computer game.
Just so you know, it's lame to critisize your betters, especially when you've done nothing noteworthy yourself.
There may be plenty of communications majors making lots of money. You are not one of them. You are a silly boy in a second rate college in one of the worst (and most embarrasing) states in the union, second only to Missisipi. How qualified does this make you to critisize somebody who has been written about in magazines? Not at all.
Unfortunately, people from all over know about Texas, and the kind of person it produces, since the kind of person it produces has his oily little finger on the button. So I'd like to take this opportunity to say, "We're sorry that we have such stupid people with high opinions of themselves in our country, but at least you don't have to live with them. Unless you're in Iraq, in which case you do have to live with them, but at least you get to behead them once and a while."
Did I go too far? Only the mods will tell!
