The other day my alt lost connectivity (isp died) doing a mission. By the time i got back in, ship was into hull and died.
Whilst nothing to do with CCP, I asked nicely and :
2006.03.31 02:08 Dear Jadzeer DAXX A salvage operation recently recovered your "Apocalypse Navy Issue" class ship from a debris field in "Chemilip". You should be able to retrieve your ship at "Hisoufad X - Moon 15 - Amarr Navy Assembly Plant". The salvage team could not find any items that were ejected from your ship prior to its apparent destruction so if you were not able to retrieve the cargo canisters there is sadly nothing we can do. Law requires us to notify your friendly insurance company and they have deducted any financial payout from your account. Sincerely, Your friendly neighbourhood CONCORD police squad.

I'm no roleplayer, but I think having it in character like that is a very good thing. no reason NOT to do it that way, and it seems less... sterile, IMO.

Good to see. Just reinforces the position of CCP as the finest devs and GM's in the business.
Well done CCP.

After being involved in a serious ship accident I was devistated...I couldnt work and the medical bills just get stacking up. Not to mention I didnt have a reliable way of travel. I called the offices of CC&P and they helped me get my life back together. Thank you CC&P.
Have you been involved in a ship accident, where you recently charged with flying under the influence, or even poded by gate campers, or are you just simply fed up with stupid Chuck Noris jokes and want to sue someone. Don't wait to call us. Our legal experts have a combined experience in trial cases over 2 bil years. Well fight for you.

CCPs customer service and overall communication skill seems to me the best I've ever seen. Converting ship replacement notifications into roleplay text was a great idea. --

That's not really what he said right? All he said is 'I don't roleplay, but I still think it's cool'
Same situation as me tbh.

This post makes me MAD
We had a similar thing, lost two t2 fitted ravens due to a node no longer accepting module activations or warp commands. The difference being we were under sentry fire.
CCP did not role play us, instead said, tough luck you died even though we had screenshots to prove our story.
Goes to show, CCP love carebears.... it makes me want to puke tbh.
ps: boohoo me

They didn't help us coz at the time we were ganking people. Two VERY experienced gate campers went boom. No other ships were at gate. We had 100% cap each and had to watch both ships hit hull and leave us sitting in pods. (have a ton of screenies showing this)
Both of us have never submitted petitions before for any kind of claim, one of us has been playing since beta. It stinks.

Whilst nothing to do with CCP, I asked nicely and :
So you filed a petition for something that you KNEW had nothing to with ccp, GM's messed up and didn't spot the fraud, and now you're bragging about it? Good job, really.

It was a situation beyond his control. The ISP went poof (Something that does happen a fair bit) and his ship died not because he was AFK, but because he had technical difficulties. Every GM handles things in their own way, seriously, they are humans just like the rest of us.
Having known a couple GMs on other sites (not Eve-GMs), they each have their own styles. Some like to use their GM powers in an RP sense, others prefer the more sterile "here, new ship."
It might also help to ask nicely. And also, those of you gatecampers, did it ever occur that you could have been sniped by warship? I've seen vesels that can snipe people from far enough away to not be noticed by some sensors.

While I'm glad you got your ship back it does not say much for consistency.

So if you ask niceley, it doesn't matter if 'our logs show nothing out of the ordinary?'. Because surely there aren't any CCP side logs for when your ISP has a problem. It has been stated over and over again that CCP can only reimburse if there are server logs that point to a problem on CCP's side.
I'm sure that every GM handles cases differently, but the one that handled this, is clearly ignoring the basic rules laid out for them. Unless the OP is lying for some reason, and there was indeed a server side problem.

How come that none of my reimbursments were not in role-playing?
From now on I want my petitions to be handled by role-playing CCP personnel rather than GM's... _________________________________
