Correct me if I am wrong but freight containers are disappearing every day now.
I have had my enormous freight containers in 3 different systems in safespots for over half a year and they werent even refreshed every month. In one of the patches since 1.1 (last week or so) you changed the properties of these containers so they disappear way faster (within a day or less).
What I assume is that you tried to fix MTU drone aggro (which was totally fair tbh) and when doing it by modding drones screwed up salvage drone autosalvage you decided to change properties of deployables.
What gives.
Can we have freight containers in space back or is this intentional.
Another "feature"?
EvE-Mail me if you need anything.

Oh, so you had a beneficial bug that let your containers stay without maintainance, and are upset that with the patch they fixed it?

I don't really use freights or containers in space all that much, but I do have to question why a giant metal box floating in an environment with no oxygen would degrade and dissolve in the span of a day.

You know what I used the thing for? To suspect flag myself by "stealing from it".
Such can (if it isn't yours) will flag you for taking from it even if guy is in your corp/fleet/both. It's handy. Wouldn't cry if there was a simple way to get suspect flag at a moments notice.
Not gona cry like this either. I just DON'T like stealth nerfs/fixes/patches/updates/slash everything you can call that.
PATCHNOTES do you use them CCP? Slap my cheek if I missed this announcement, to me it seems like all the orca nerfs in the past.

I also have a post regarded to this. If it was a faulty style of game play ccp should have informed us about the upcoming change. As it was I and others were using these containers in many different ways and I'm sure many others in WH lost a $hit ton more than I did. And how about partisan activities way out in 0.0 where you don't hold sov? Just seems removing this makes the little guy that more ineffective.

Neither does warp drive or planets that don't actually move, but there you go.

Freight containers are not deployables. When dumped in space they are an eyesore and a hazard to navigation. Whenever I am flying an empty freighter and see one, I scoop it as a public service. (You receive no suspect flag for scooping a freight container. Taking items from one, yes, but not scooping the whole thing.) Sometimes after I scoop one I discover it is full of ore. Sometimes people convo me and express displeasure at my selfless attempt to clean up their space garbage. I guess you really can't please everyone.

The ID grouping in system categorization might be similar. I don't know but what other reason for the recent features if not this?

As far as I know, they were always cleaned daily, otherwise Niarja / Uedama would be littered with them.

I honestly figured that the enormous freight container behaviour in space was actually a bug. They have very little HP, really screwy crimewatch flagging, and never got cleaned up with downtime.
Those things were never intended to be floating in space (only freighters could move them, and for a long time freighters couldn't jetcan).
The entire thing just meshes with the way CCP does things. "These things will never be deployed in space, no need to include "space" behaviour for them." The risk of having your day ruined by other people is the cornerstone with which EVE was built and we want to keep that (infact, this is much more representative of the consensus opinion within CCP). |

However, you don't just jettison them from a freighter. CCP uses 'Launch for self' option, just as it does with MTU. It's a damn shame... as a newbie, I've just discovered how elegant mining can be with containers floating nearby.
