Well, I used the close-range setup like this for quite long:
2x Nosfs, 3x 150/125 IIs
1x MWD, 1x Disruptor, 1x Web
1x MAR II, 1x Explosive Hardener, 1x EANM, 1x 400 plate or DCU.
It worked quite well till I start to look towards Ishtar. As we all know, Ishtar can be fitted in alot of ways thanks to its role wich is also versatility.
Now....
2x Medium Nosfs, 3x 150 IIs or 2x Dual 150 IIs...whatever fits really.
1x MWD II or named one; 1x LSE II, 1x Warp Disruptor II
2x Overdrive II, 2x Nanofiber II
3x Aux velocity rigs.
Speed over 2700/2800 m/s, with gang prolly over 3km/sec.
Well, thats relatively cheap (60 million) setup for those who want to get a hand in nano ships without risking 200+ million HACs. Aux velocity rigs also used to lower cost instead of Polycarbons.
And yes I know 60 mil for a T1 cruiser is odd. ---

Med Warp Disrubtor II X5 Web MWD (named)
Low 2x Overcharge 2x Nanofiber
Drones 5 Hammerhead for frigs and cruisers and 5 Warriors for Interceptors
Speed is 2800 m/s with skills ..
tactic Scanning ----> warping ----> orbit on 15km and you are out of webbing range and good for ships using guns... MWD on and put the drones on Him ----> BSm... nice to gank with this setup... but be careful you dont have a tank

Highs: 4x Light Neutron Blaster II 1x Small Nos II
Mids: 1x MWD 1x Webber 1x Warp Scram/Disrupt
Lows: 1x Small Armor Repairer II 1x 1600mm Rolled Tungsten 1x Energized Reactive II 1x DCU II
You could play around a little to fit a Medium repper instead or a Medium Nos or even fit a MFS II instead of the DCU II. Setup is designed to move in fast...have a decent HP buffer while you blow up your target. It can also tank sentries for long enough to kill an Assault Frig or Cruiser.

Here is my fitting, it is pretty basic but has worked relatively well for me.
High: 4 150 Prototype Hybrids, 1 Medium Ghoul Nos Mids: 1 20Km disruptor, 2 Webbers Lows: 1600MM tungsten, DCII, EANM, SAR II
Drones: 5 Meds, 5 lights of your favorite flavor.
Reasoning: Using small guns frees up the grid to mount a pretty hefty tank. They also serve well against Drones, Frigs, and Cruisers. I opted not to use an AB/MWD in order to add a further Webber. This is mainly a personal choice based around my fighting style and for me personally but they are quite helpful. I like the 2 webbers so I can either double web fast ships that get within range causing my drones and my own guns to nail them harder, or I can split targets and web a hostile drone and my opponent at the same. Again, my choice to use two webbers is not in stone, I just find other modules to be more beneficial than a speed mod for >my style< of fighting.
I am the biggest fan of this setups tank. It is designed to absorb a great deal of punishment and confound your opponent while your drones finish him off. Also, I have had many fights where my opponent breaks my armor, only to find an even more resistant shell beneath it.
The SARII is mainly for minimal repping during the fight, and healing on up after the battle. It takes little CAP leaving plenty to run everything else. The alternative is a MAR and 800plate. But I find the repper cycles too slow, and 800 may not be enough of a buffer before it breaks.
Tell me what you think. Id like to discuss it. Also, some other options people have used in their 3 mids other than speed or additional webbing.

Recently I have taken out two vexors in my wolf that where using 220mm autocannons (seperate incidents different players) Its fair to say that neither of them lasted too long.
Is there any reason for anyone to want to fit autocannons on a vexor. I cant think of one unless it is some sort of cpu / grid issue that the rest of there setup causes.
Cheers

well what else was there fitting?
And honestly hybrid guns have pretty nasty fitting requirements compared to AC's imo. I mean on a ship that does not have a weapons bonus it may be better to use projectiles however the vexor does have the bonus...
I mean were tehy trying to orbit outside at 14km with barrage or osmething?

I do it but only with a gang. It really isn't that great solo. I'd much rather have a blaster/vexor or nos/vexor.
My entire corp is pretty much minmatar and most of them like to fly stabbers for cruisers and just to roam. With barrage they usually can get outside of web range. We also have a habit of taking on things much larger than us... such as HAC's. The nano vexor setup I use in a gang is
4x125mm rails with thorium charge. I orbit a tlike 12500km or technically a bit more because of agility. I don't do much damage with them but I don't fit nos because it requires me to be too close anyway evne with medium nos
1 medium smartbomb. I had so much grid and cpu left over that this was the best fit. If anyone ahs drones I can do a decent amount of damage to them.
tracking disruptor. The nano-vexor doesn't go fast enough atleast without rigs and decent skills as to not get hit. This tracking disruptor helps tremendously. 10mn mwd Medium capcitor booster
2x Overdrive best named affordable. I've tested with a few different overdrives and the nano's make much more of a difference. 2x Nanofiber II's.
I get 2200m/s in a straight line and around 1500-1700 orbiting. It's not fast enough but it works in a gang of stabbers.
edit: with most of my sp in drones I also get 115dps from drones alone moreso than a stabber I believe so it trades off speed for damage still.

And of course, drones. In the land of maxed skills, raw damage and fishy DPS figures, I think this gets pretty close to 475 DPS(with Ogre IIs and antimatter).
Theres no way that will fit, unless you have some very high fitting skills.
....it only doesnt fit if you have very low fitting skills......
