(this is a copy pasted message from my other thread)
Say i wanted to make complex reactions in a pos via buying the inputs at jita. Say i had bought 4 inputs.
I'd need 4 silo's 1 for each input a complex reaction array and an output silo correct? no coupling arrays etc are needed? This seems like the logical way and being eve, im sure its invariably more difficult with some strange niche system.
Pos are definately my weak point, any help greatly appreciated.
(Edit: from my understanding each input silo will feed 100m3 of simple reactants into the reactor array per hour, the magic will happen, 400m3 of complex reactants will output per hour) |

not 100m3, but 100 units. and yes, u will need 1 silo for each input and one for output. and yes, u are correct:
100A + 100B + 100C + 100D = 400E |

Not 400e though, you have to check the reaction blueprint for details |

That being said, a coupling array will serve as an intermediate link, so that if you offline a silo to refill it at a bad time, you don't miss a cycle. the coupling array will hold at least one cycle (usually more depending on what you are reacting) so that the reactor pulls from it instead of failing to pull from the offline silo.
Silo -> coupling array -> reactor. As long as you refill the silo while the coupling array is online, you won't miss a hourly cycle.
It's usually a good idea if you have a bit of grid and cpu, they don't take much. |

No coupling arrays, they don't do as much compared to a silo for the cpu/power cost. Also, with being able to online and offline a silo, and easy access to the tick time, there is no reason to miss a tick. |

So my 2 option are Silo(1)------coupling array (1) -------- Silo(2)------coupling array (2) -------- complex Silo(3)------coupling array (3) -------- reactor. -------- silo(5) Silo(4)------coupling array (4) --------
Or the same without coupling arrays? |

Lose the coupling arrays, and maybe consider an extra silo on the end, for increased times between maintenance, if you desire. Just pay attention to the tick time, and no productivity will be lost. |

is it possible to link 2 reactor arrays to a single output silo? |

No, a silo only handles one resource. |

i mean the same resource from 2 different sources? id guess it wasnt possible but figured id ask.
Say i had 2 simple reactions reacting the same thing both going into 1 silo. |

I will say I never have tried it, but the interface appears to only have room for one input and one output for silos, versus reactors. |

You cant, trust me I wish you could. You could do silly things like having 3x simple reactors on 1 pos if you could. |
