I agree with your response to the first quote.
When I lived in South Florida for 4 years I got very used to going commando, as it is so blazing hot that and I spent many hours outside. I needed to increase air flow as much as possible. But as soon as the first winter back in Virginina hit I was back to wearing boxers
EDIT: Plus, holding the testis that close to the body has actually been shown to reduce sperm count, which may be something many guys may actually not mind happening lol. Also, the article actually says the reason that the testis are outside the body is that, "testes were made to be out in the breeze." |

Yeah, people are strange, they have monogamous relationships, then find them selves being attracted to someone else later on. Then get even more confused when they love two people at once.. Only reason why they end up unhappy, or forced to chose one or another is because society dictates you can only have "close feelings" for only one other person. |

pffft. what's strange about it? it's called jealousy. we're programmed that way. say i have a boyfriend...then i develop "close feelings" for another guy while seeing him. i act on those feelings. what are the chances the boyfriend is going to be "oh, that's cool. whatever!" slim to none. ahem....
on the same token if that boyfriend starts seeing some other ***** while we are together what are the chances i'll be cool with that? zero chance.
so what does that leave us? a world were we forgo all relationships and just screw whoever we want whenever we want without consequence? sounds great. peace, love and venereal disease.
what if you want a family? i have a friend from high school that has 4 kids with 3 different fathers. seems that world you are looking for sort of already exits.

i was going to add:
if men had the same options as women, men would understand how easy it is to rationalize unfaithful-ness. as it is, a woman could have a guy who's amazing, but 25x as many people want to do her than him. a lot of times, the percent difference is infinite, because -no one- is trying to do him.

Whats so wrong with that? That's more the natural order of things, from a evolutionary point of view as I see it.. Means you have 4 back up dads, in case one gets killed, or one turns out to be a dead beat dad. That's how it was 50,000+ years ago. Its people only view it as a bad thing, because of Christian values.

Here's something interesting, Here's some random profile I made:http://www.pof.com/viewprofile.aspx?profile_id=71657882
Meet bob, he's some random guy I found photos of on Google image search, sorry if you're him, be happy its in the name of science.
His profile is the same as my old profiles. When I first created this profile, his income was set to 60,000-80,000, Had a Bachelors degree and was a Firefighter. So far he's gotten 3 women who have contacted him initially, and about 20 women have written him back all in the space of 2 days. However, I put his education requirements down to High school, and makes 35,000 to 50,000 and works a manual labour job, now no-one writes him back. |

I wonder if anyone really reads profiles. Most of the emails I'd receive from pof hadn't read a single word of anything I'd written.. and the rest were obviously skimming. I would imagine that after your 20th or 30th profile people start to look very very similar and you start to make a mental spreadsheet.. much like EVE.

One thing I've noticed about all this when getting older (48 here) is that we tend to become set in our ways, with a specific criteria of things we do with free time ("movie-watching projects", certain games, eating at certain times, etc....everything really) that it seems to become more difficult to squeeze in another person and all their interests as well, as a good fit.
It's really, really difficult, tbh.

Yeah......my more bitter side definitely came out then.
And here in Florida......oh lord. I have not even bothered to check out the gay bars at all, as I'm probably moving anyway within the next 6 months. There have so far been 2 attempts to pick me up at the grocery store though. Cruising while shopping is a thing. BUT.....there is a way of doing it, and a way of not doing it. And both of these two attempts to "garner my interest" turned into near stalking instead. I mean, yes dude, I'm aware of you and your interest, but not taking your eyes off me for 10 solid minutes while I'm wheeling abuggy around, and then blocking me with yours by darting out suddenly at the end of the aisle......
I know they are rather desperate here in the Florida wasteland, but the behaviour while "cruising" has just been super-creepy. When it becomes overly obvious even to other people in the store, that is not a good thing, and points to some deep seated issues. Good luck to whomever they do eventually find. I have some funny stories about getting hit on in Florida but they are much too long to go into here. One female crack head, a gay guy (who apparently had a family up north), one male tweaker, and one girl who I saw trying to dance with every guy on the dance floor before she saw me lmao!!! There are others, but those are thoe most distinct.
I do have a shirt that I wear that gets me non ending attention though and I LOVE it!

If I really think about it, beyond raising up a child or two, there really is not any evolutionary advantage to pairing off with someone "forever".
For me, the Wedding Industry (and the Bridezillas it has begotten) is just a manufactured way of perpetuating this "institution", like how the candy industries keep perpetuating Easter (with a perverse bent focused on rabbits......perpetually horny and definitely not monogamous....what an un-Christian animal ) and Valentine's Day.
