I've been away from the game maybe a month and now my drones attack gang members?
Before a fix or two ago, I could be boosted or repaired by a gang member without worrying about my drones attacking them.
Last night, in a 5/10, my fracking drones attacked and killed a gang member's ship. Not realizing this is an issue AGAIN, I missed her frantic pleas to recall drones.
SO, WHY ARE THEY ATTACKING GANG MEMBERS!?

I can confirm this bug. I was in a deadspace mission, and my drones kept attacking our remote armor repairer person every time they destroyed their current target. The only workaround was to give them another target right after their current target was destroyed, or choose "Return and Orbit".
This is BROKEN!

yes this is a problem it only happends when
1. someone attacks you say to test there guns or something then they will attack them when ever you get them out
2. with repair drones
its annoying when your on ts and you have your corp mate telling you to sort out your drones over and over....
Message me for a sig 5-15mil

This is an issue they reintroduced with one of these recent hotfixes/patches.
CCP, are you investigating the reason?

Few weeks ago i was doing a mission with 2 of my corp mates. One was using drones and missiles. We attacked the same target, his missile splash damage caused my drones to lock and attack him which then caused his drones to attack me. Very interesting situation, i had only been back to the game since jan and i killed of his drones and he killed half of mine.
I thought i appeared in the middle of a spawn at first, an exspensive mistake by the end of it! lol.

This was caused by the 'improvement' to Drone AI, where they make better use of aggression flags to choose thier targets. This stops them from flying around and attacking ships not yet attacking you, and will then go an attack once you start shooting something, but yea, your corp mate still gets flagged after shooting you, and for some reason repairing is considered aggression, so that flags it as well.
If you ask me, they need to fix the repairing is aggression thing the most.

err.. yes thats true. but ive had my drones go from attacking all the enemies, to attacking my mate. who was, at the time, in a raven. it didnt matter so much but grr was it annoying.. not only do i now have to watch my drones from wandering off and getting themselves whacked (attacking non hostiles/non aggroed, copping the aggro) now they go after my mate and attack him! for absolutely no reason..
This has been around for 2-3 months. so im sure CCP has copped a small army of petitions about it.. so i dont wish to add to thier load.. but cmon..
Also. i dont believe it depends on wether your tractoring thier can or not.. the drones just decide to attack ANYTHING and everything.. havnt seen em shooting each other yet.. wouldnt surprise me though..

QFT ... I agree this is the most likely reason why this happens. If someone becomes flagged to you for targetting you and repairing you with repair drones, or if you purposely attacked each other once before, the flagging means that your drones will seek out this person in the future when they are not kept on a very very tight leash. Whenever I gang with non corp members for an empire mission, I watch my drone's target like a hawk, when I see 5% struct remaining, I send them to a new target or return and orbit. Their last shots finish the target and then they are off to get the next guy without having had an opportunity to go renegade on me and get me CONCORDOKKEN.

If you would like to see your drones shoot each other, launch a group and leave them orbiting your ship. Lock one drone and engage an energy vampire or similar module, and the other drones will open fire on it.

I see this very issue was one of the fixes in this last patch. So far, so good.
