So I finally decided to jump on the latest SOE LP bandwagon and started doing missions for them. Since I lack the patience for distribution missions, I went and found some security agents. So far no problem but then I noticed something wrong.
Sometimes the SOE agent would give me missions to attack the Amarr Empire. Naturally, I had a problem with this and declined. The next mission they offered me was against the Caldari State. WTF?
So I waited four hours and went back. I've done about two dozen missions for various agents so far and I've found that about 25% of them are against the Amarr or the Caldari. I've never once seen a mission where the SOE asks me to attack the Minmatar or Gallente.
"Neutral organization" my ass!
So what gives, CCP? Didn't make you discrimination quota for the week or something?
Bonus: SOE station was located in the Amarr Empire! Nullsec in a Nutshell: http://nedroid.com/comics/2006-08-24-2155-arrrdino.gif |

I am pretty sure the type of missions you get depend on the area of space you're flying/doing missions in. much like versing Serpentis when doing Gallente missions.
I believe the main mission hub for SOE level 4's is within Amarr territory and borders the Caldari. therefore the missions you will get will be against those two factions. (at least it makes sense in my mind, you don't expect Gallente or Minmatar vessels to be that far out of their territory)

I always received missions from SOE agents on a similar mix to what gallente agents gave me.
That is why on the recent uber-thread about the SOE agents, I happened to focus on the blitz times I achieved for gallente agents, as that is the same mission mix that the agent I used to blitz up a virtue set years ago was giving me.
oh and FYI smash the suppliers/shipyard or whatever it is, is one of the best missions in the game for money, if you got that a bunch of times in a row, and then had to go fix your standing its still worth it. I had to fix my standings every couple of years, if I was really blitzing I might have to do it more often simply because I wouldn't want to reject that mission.

Fair enough, except that the agent is in Amarr space... and giving me missions against the Amarr.

If you check the 'In-Game Inter-Faction Relationships' (Top Graph) you'll see that the Sisters Of Eve are actually negative towards Amarr and Caldari. That could be why you're being offered some encounter missions against them.
I'm just curious, do you have positive standings with the 4 main Empire Factions or is Amarr and Caldari currently negative?

Haven't you heard? Amarr and Caldari are the bad guys. When I did missions for the Sanctuary in pure blind I got anti-amarr missions occasionally, but I don't recall any anti-caldari ones.

Also, its normal for a faction to give empire-faction kill missions against its enemies, regardless of where it is. Plenty of Caldari stations in Gal sov do this. The location is of less relevance. There are Amarr agents in Matari space, and they give you missions against the Matari. http://vincentoneve.wordpress.com/ |

I know first hand SoE makes your standings dog-meat, and no, I'm not going to sit around for a week to wait for a milk run that guarantees not to **** anyone off. It isn't what I signed up for. I got my several frigate and druiser blueprints, and destroyed my Amarr standing to do it.

Can't really blame the SoE for your Amarr standing tanking. You accept missions against them, and you shoot the ships. The point is that SoE story missions won't cost you standing with anyone else.
