CCP Optimal has a new dev blog out regarding some rather neat changes to the fitting interface. As a compulsive ship fitter myself, I've been wanting to see this in-game for a long time and I hope it will make some of you happy as well

Looks good to me but not sure about the drone calculations - although I must admit to not knowing a better solution. Believe in what they do, not what they say.

There's not a way to get a full breakdown on damage type in there is there? Possibly through a tooltip? for instance, hover over the gun icon and it says in a tooltip "thermal 89% em 0% explosive 12 % and so on", hover over drones it displays "Thermal 100% (who doesn't use thermal drones on a mission boat)", but if you hover over the total it gives you a full breakdown? That'd be nice. edit- as for the drone issue, just load the drones you want and leave the rest of the bay empty. |

...about that patient on the table: any chance for an align time? (from a standstill would be enough) I'm a little freighter - short and stout; This is my cargo, this is my route. When I get a lock-on, I scream and shout: "Light up a cyno!" and jump on out. |

I want to be able to see range on missiles. Just crudely calculated range, taking skillz, rigs, missiles themselves and so forth into account. Having to calculate this out-of-game is a bother.

Very nice so far.
Would like to see: left side expansion of fitting window with dronebay so you can group them before undocking. that would also allow to just select which group is active.
Buttons to set modules active / inactive would be pretty nice. most MWDs don't have to run all the time.
Still a good work so far :) |

Shouldnt that be "an estimate on how much pain your boat will deliver in ideal conditions"? I doubt a ship does it's maximum dps 'on average'.

How about adding display for optimal range/falloff too and theoretical max missile range.
I know you can see those from guns but missile range needs some calculation. |

Because on your silly patch where your fits would get saved on the server, u limited the number of saved fit to 50.
That is not even close to the number of ships ccp lets me fly or own
Please multiply that maximum number of saved fits by 5 or 10.
(I had to delete 150 fits alone when the expansion came out, which made me cry a little - even worse, since i just have 50 fits saved now anyway and its FULL i cant make any use of the window anymore anyway) |

How about a pseudo-EFT thing that lets us simulate fittings by dragging items onto a "virtual" fitting window? And a button to calculate the price based on station, systemwide or regional pricing... |

This.
Consistency is important, pick a decimal and thousands indicator and stick with it.
Also, pick whether 5/100 mean 5 left or 5 used and be consistent with that as well across the screen. Flip flopping the grid and CPU reading to how much is left while leaving cargo, drones and calibration the other way is just confusing.
Hire (or train) a UI consultant!
