Make Ewar Modules only usable on Ewar specific ships, I.e Vigils, blackbirds and such.
I propose you go play DDO and play a Cleric.

Originally by: Gierling IMHO I don't like how EW is a "you don't get to play" button.
I would prefer if it degraded your capabilites but didnt completely shut you out.
S'why I suggested partial jams. You'll probly get to shoot SOMEONE, not probly not the main target..

I totally agree here, you see EW-Ravens, EW-Dommies now all the bloody time... but if they cant jam you they tank like a cardbord paper...

Problem is they normally do get a jam in. 1 friggin module to render all your modules and skills useless. It just seems overpowered at the moment to me.
So in war, the way is to avoid what is strong and to strike at what is weak. |

Folks saying that EW should be limited to EW ships only.
Err.. How is that justified. ?
If I come out in a ship that folks do not expect to be EW capable and that person does not manage to take me down with 'thier choice' in tactics then is that not thier problem. ?
As opposed to restricting what can be fit where.
Personally, I think that idea is a load of Cods Wollop.

Edited by: Kraven Kor on 10/04/2006 17:23:22 While I agree that the new EW system is too random for my liking, I don't see anything wrong with "overwhelming EW."
If you can't shoot back, you can't win. Period. And if my fleet's possession of such EW capabilities means you don't engage or simply don't even undock, I see that as a victory.
It is counterable. Counter-jam, sensor damp, ECM bursts, FOF missiles, drones, fast-locking fast-warping ships that warp in and out popping blackbirds and frigates. ECCM modules to make your buddies harder to jam. Smartbombs and a good covert ops pilot setting up warp ins.
There is no tactic in this game that is impossible to counter, other than overwhelming odds.

You don't like it? great. Just don't expect people to stop using it just becsaue you don't want to use, or defend against it.
That's almost like saying "Bugs and Exploits are part of the game. Don't expect anyone to stop using them..."
Ofcourse ECM's are not a bug nor an exploit although it's relevant. Players will flock to the easiest mode of operandi.
I agree that there should be specialized ships designed for EW whereas other ships should have less effectiveness from usnig EW modules.
Establishing a specialty roll in fleet engagements encourages diversity and competition.
This is also needed for "anti-missle" ships. It would be good to see specialized ships who's sole purpose is to pump out Defenders.
