Hello together,
I-¦m not sure, if this is the right channel, but I-¦ll give it a try.
I was just looking for a location for a high-sec POS in an attractive system and jumped to a hell lot of moons. About 10-30% of the POSes (depending on the system) are offline and belong often to pretty old corps with only a few members. Most of them aren-¦t probably used for a very long time. Thus they are just blocking anchor spots.
We don-¦t have the capacities to wardec someone. And as carebears we don-¦t want to destroy someones assets.
Wouldn-¦t it be reasonable, to let an offline-¦d POS vanish after some time, maybe 2 month? It would give smaller and newer corps the chance to build their POSes in nice spots. And also setting the incentive to keep the POS running. The new deployable structures also vanish after a specific period. Thus the mechanic exists.
What do you think? |

Then find a new spot, track someone down who will sell you a spot, or keep on living without a pos.

It would not be reasonable.
I think you should HTFU and shoot one. If these are truly dead or inactive corps, it should be a simply matter to wardec for 50m and take a few hours to kill the tower with battleships. Believe me, this will not interfere with your wish to remain carebears. Plus, when you're done you might find yourself proud enough to upload the killmail. You can hire people to remove the tower.
You can AFK do it yourself. You can even create a temporary corp to do the wardec if you fear repercussions. |

If you manage to take down a tower, i would not expect the owner to be surprised or particularly bothered at all. Even an active corp will leave the tower there when they abandon the pos, simply on the off chance they wish to return. Plus, when you're done you might find yourself proud enough to upload the killmail.

Go to http://www.evewho.com and check up on that corp in question, their Alliance members, and activity therein. Decide whether to bash, hire mercs, or leave it alone then. EveWho isn't 100% reliable, but it's a good indicator. Also, see if any other indy corps in your area want to get in on the bash if you think it's a good choice. More people bashing means quicker kill. "Blow it all on Quafe and strippers." --- Sorlac |

Plus, if you're willing to shoot one, that means you can put your pos where it most makes sense for your corp, rather than whenever there happened to be an empty moon. Location is a big deal.
Also, if you need to kick members temporarily to achieve the faction standing for anchoring the tower, be sure to do it (and reaccept them) before the wardec. One small warning: pos spots near trade hubs are desirable. If you take one such spot, you may find yourself decced by another corp soon enough.
Don't get too greedy - go a few jumps further away, off the main routes. |

It-¦s 3 jumps away from a hub with 80+ moons. About 20% of the POSes are offline. I guess, we-¦re pretty safe there, as it looks more logical to me, to go for an offline POS than for a onlined EWAR tower. At least I hope so

Your best bet is to hire mercs, though it will likely be pricey. Just note that many merc corps will likely shy away from a large, due to the massive amount of hp. Even if it is offline a large caldari control tower for example has over 50 mil hp to shoot through. Now if the corp turns out to be active and turns it into a dickstar tower, well most mercs won't even bother.
Small and mediums are more likely to be targets mercs will shoot for you.
If you go at it on your own there are several things to consider:
Depending on the size of tower some Tier 3 BCs can widdle away at it and be cheap enough to lose if it turns out they are actually active.
If you are going to wardec a corp you will want to know their activity level, their size, and the experience of their members. Many corps are dead or inactive so you will likely encounter no resistance, but never count on it.
wardecs may put you on the map to be decced later, as they show up in the active wardec list, and many highsec pvp corps may take you for someone who may give good targets. I once podded myself by blowing a huge fart. |

Oracles, T1 ammo, afk. Set up a rota for being atk and have everyone on comms. If something happens then they can yell on ts and people can pause the movie and perform whatever eve action is needed. should be the other way around. Losing a ship to an npc is much more embarrassing. "CCP is changing policy, and has asked that we discontinue the bonus credit program after November 7th. So until then, enjoy a super-bonus of 1B Blink Credit for each 60-day GTC you buy!"

If its a large tower that has no shield just setup an afk drone boat. Domis+ Heavy drones+ Lasers with t1 crystals in the highs and full damage/cap recharge in the mids and lows. You get like 1200 afk dps.
[Dominix, afk tower bash]
6x Dual Heavy Pulse Laser II (Multifrequency L)
3x Cap Recharger II Omnidirectional Tracking Link II Tracking Computer II
3x Heat Sink II 4x Drone Damage Amplifier II
5x Ogre II |

i agree with they other, theres lots of ways to lose your ship to another player, if i lose 1 to rats its means i seriously messed up my fit, if i lose one to players your going to lose it no matter how well fit it is. |

I am actually in the same boat. This is GREAT advice that I had not considered.
I sent the corp a mail to give them a chance to pull it down without a wardec. Figure I will give them a chance to respond or dec them and blow it up.
