I think CCP should introduce a new race into New Eden that would have come from the early days when New Eden was being settled. The race would have advanced cloaking systems to allow them to remain cloaked especially the planets that they lived on where they have monitored the events and possibly even had a hidden hand in the molding of the events of New Eden. |

Your a pirate, why wouldn't you want a new race to added to the game in order to better your....prowess and increase your pirate standings? Scared that the new race just might make you run with your tail between your legs? Just asking. |

Nah, Space Pandas are dorky. CCP should introduce Space Death Knights. To avoid the tedium of grinding up a new char, bitter vets would start a new Space Death Knight with 55 million skill points.

I think that a new race could be part of the Ghost Sites. The race would have monitored and maintained the sites for thousands of years where they paid the local governments to keep Capsuleer's away from them so they could live in peace while at the same time conducting research and developing new social tools such as ships and weapons that they would have paid the local governments to keep the Capsuleer's away from them as well.
Maybe CCP would create the race where the race has become agitated with the Capsuleer's violating their territory because the local governments broke their agreement in keeping the Capsuleer's out thus starting a war between the Ghost Site Race and the Capsuleer's of New Eden. The war would be similar to the Incursion...but with a twist.
Once a Ghost Site Race's planet has decloaked for what ever reason a broadcast would be displayed just like the broadcast for the Incursions are for the system where the planet or Ghost Site has decloaked in. Pilots would then make their way towards the system where the planet or site has decloaked in where they would then engage in assaulting mission hubs of varying strengths within the system. Once the hubs had been defeated, which would be reinforced from the planet on an hourly basis the planet would remain decloaked including any new asteroid, gas, ice or other types of mineable belts.
For the Dust514 crowd they would be able to access the planet the same way that the interaction takes place between Eve-Online and DUST514.
The most likely place for the Ghost Site Race to decloak in would be systems that are devoid of anything other than a sun.
Just from a basic understanding of astronomy there are hardly any suns that do not have some type of celestial body orbiting it.
Such systems in the game would make a perfect backdrop for such a new race to be born in. |

Slow down.
I'm not sure what problem this is meant to be a solution for. If it's to have more pve content, an expansion to incursions, then surely it's better to just iterate on incursions? The "plot" for them hasn't moved since they were introduced, it's well overdue time to get going. |

You literally described, to a loose extent, Jove, Sleppers, and we can assume Enhuadani (or whatever the **** spelling it was)
also, no, CCP will NOT add any more "races", especially oens designed explicitly to be "them", because ti changes the game from human conflict into "us vs them", which is boring. right now lore is written so that psychopaths and quentionable morals/motives are equally spread between "empire" and "pirates", so the only real "bad guys" would be us. |

These races already exist- only the Sleepers have any gameplay presence though. Jovians, Talocans, Xuan-Yun (ok, I know I got that last name wrong...) are all referenced in the lore and several storyline missions. Jove even has ship models (they are used by GMs). Your capsule is technically a Jove ship (that's why it's green).
Now, if you're saying hat new storylines and content should be created based on these, then I heartily agree. They haven't been developed at all since the Sleepers were revealed (and then the sleepers developed a little more when DUST was erleased). There's a lot of potential here not being utilized. - Mission Overhaul - Bridging the PVP / PVE Gap - -áIf the game stops teaching people to fear lowsec, maybe people will start going there? |

Dont get me wrong, new stuff would be cool, but ...
I don't really see it working because:
* We already have a 2v2 race scenario, where would another race fit? It would have to fit otherwise FW would be impossible for that race with current mechanics. * All races start with some ship SP in their racial profile. What SP do you give a fifth race? CCP would not create a new ships racial line when it's hell balancing the current ones. * Only very new players would make toons of the new race, unless the new race had advantages. If it did, then EVERYONE would rolls a new toon of that new race, probably as an alt, kept with low skill points, and used for whatever best fit those new advantages, ie ganking, or moving stuff.
I think it's just a hard to work idea because the EVE universe is pretty tightly wound. Any large changes make the little clock explode. Another race would be interesting, but if CCP introduced one, they would probably first jam it in as an NPC race running around in empire, and once it's settled in confortably, maybe do something more with it. I suddenly woke up thinking I had a nightmare, then remembered I can't even fly Amarr Battleships. I add bits to this when I'm bored https://www.dropbox.com/s/foijsawsqolarom/EVE_Online.html |

I don't think he meant playable race. He better not have, cause it would be silly for a playable race to do what he described. - Mission Overhaul - Bridging the PVP / PVE Gap - -áIf the game stops teaching people to fear lowsec, maybe people will start going there? |

Maybe I should take them to edge and mention a new playable race.....better not.
No I meant a new NPC Race similar to the Sleepers and other NPC factions in the game.
The Ghost Site Race could actually be a modern day of separatists that have found old age New Eden history and looking to be different from the rest of New Eden have gone about basing their society off of the history prior to when the First Four races came into being.
We really don't know who existed or how society existed prior to the modern age of New Eden. New Eden's history basically begins after the collapse of the Eve Gate.
With some certainty I am convinced that some aspect of those coming through the gate before it collapsed would still be present and floating around New Eden just waiting to be found after all those years.
Maybe it was the Sleepers who caused the Eve Gate to collapse in the first place because they were lonely. The ancient history possibly recorded and kept in the Ghost Site's by the Ghost Race might shed further light on the Sleepers in New Eden as well.
Perhaps the Sleepers are early New Eden citizens that went missing and found the wormholes and some sort of great technological center that turned them into the Sleepers we see today. |

You really don't know too much about the lore at all, do you? Go read Theodicy, Empyrean Age and Templar one, then we'll talk- they already have the Jovians as the 5th, ancient, mysterious race and they have five awesome ships (I have them linked in my bio) and until they iterate on them more, I am confident that they wouldn't add some weird space panda thing. Also, reading Templar One will give you everything you'd ever need to know about the origins of the sleepers. "A City made of Wood is built in the forest; A City made of Stone is built in the mountains; But a City made of Dreams....is built in heaven."

There are no alien races in EVE.
Sleepers, Jovians, etc, are all descended from the humans that came through the EVE gate. Sleepers are what remains of one of the original civilizations that arose from the colonists before the gate collapsed. Jovians recovered from the collapse faster then others, which is why they are more advanced then the Empires. Noone knows who the Yan Jung were, although since they also came through the EVE gate, the likelihood that they were a branch of Humans is very high. The Empires all recovered at approximately the same time, give or take a few decades. In other words, they are all human - or were once, at least.
I prefer it that way. Aliens is a tired old scifi trope that often ends up merely begging the question. It usually takes two forms- aliens as representing specific aspects of human culture for the purpose of telling a story (think Klingons), and aliens as a conspiracy-like explanation for the origins of civilization/life/etc (think Forerunner from Halo, or Precursors from Star Control 2). The first usage has legitimate storytelling purposes; the second one is tired and cliche by this point.
EVE is far more interesting to me, since it deals with the multiple ways humans developed, died, and rebuilt over a massive timescale. There's a lot more storytelling possibilities in this structure then there is by simply kicking the can over to a mysterious alien race.
tl;dr. No aliens please. There's plenty enough to work with in EVE lore already. Lore Page - Mission Overhaul - Bridging the PVP / PVE Gap - -áIf the game stops teaching people to fear lowsec, maybe people will start going there? |
