When I am participating in combat I need to be able to see the artwork of the ship I am shooting at. If I can see my HUD and my Overview (both very important in combat) any target which I have locked will be obscured by an icon in space, the locked target bracket.
I specifically fit and fly ships which are designed to fight at close range, so that I can see who I am shooting. I don't want to see some flashy icon zapping at me with lasers, I want to see the beautiful ships you have made. I began making videos of combat a while ago but I stopped because it was very uninspiring that I did not have the option to leave the 'in space' area of the footage free from flashy icons.
Please let me see, in all their glory, these flying pieces of art, whilst they blow each other to pieces.

A partial "Ctrl+F9" sounds like something nice. This reminds me - there is this "advanced camera options" that should make things easy for movie makers.. Such option might exist there... And then, there is the option to disable brackets and stuff from the overview settings - no idea what exactly that does, but it might help you.
PS: I don't assume you haven't tried all this, but it sounds like it should be able to allow you to do what you request somewhere in those options, so, if it doesn't exist, i fully support your request to be added. |

Yah I think a partial Ctrl+F9 sounds spot on. Unfortunately there isn't an option in the game to remove the locked target graphics from space other than 'Toggle User Interface Visibility' (ctrl+f9), don't worry I've checked very thoroughly. Thankyou for your support.
I'd like to provide a few images to demonstrate the effect this problem has had on me. Planetside 2 comparison: http://i.imgur.com/f8sl6xz.jpg Civilization 5 comparison: http://i.imgur.com/bjdVRlj.jpg Doom 2 comparison: http://i.imgur.com/CRE9wl2.png I realize that this isn't exactly the experience in Eve Online, I just want to give a little insight into the problem I am having. |
