As a former Noir. director I've had a lot of interaction with Psianh in game. He's always been levelheaded in his dealings and I feel he will bring that the CSM if elected. As far as his platform goes I am with him 100% in wanting to see more mercenary focused content and FIXING THE GODDAMN CORP UI/INTERFACE.
Since I promised you some questions, here they are:
-Feel free to give broad strokes, but do you feel the game in its current incarnation is inundated with needless complexity? Could you site some specific areas that you feel need some intelligent simplification?
-Do you have any concrete ideas on how to improve sovereignty mechanics aside from broad generalizations of "make it more like FW"? Do you have any short term solutions that may help to aleviate the current problems before a total revamp is undertaken?
-Give me an idea of what you think a healthy mercenary marketplace looks like (as opposed to what it looks like today)?
- Have you had any enlightening chats with Ali recently as to exactly what the power and responsibility of the CSM is that you'd like to share"
- Who changed the TS channels back from my creative alternatives? Pepizaur's Pontification Palace was a favorite of mine and cold harsh retribution must be metted out. |

1. The game isn't "inundated" with needless complexity, but there are certainly some areas that have arbitrary layers that don't add anything to the game. Industry is at the top of that list for me. I don't even do industry and I'm horrified by it. But as far as general game design goes, we're in a pretty good spot. It's easy enough to tell a player that's new to any particular facet of the game what to do at a very basic level, but mastering any one area takes time and practice.
2. Personally, I don't feel that making nullsec more like faction warfare is an approach we should be taking in the first place, at least as far as the mechanics go. What nullsec needs is more fighting at a smaller scale, on average. To do this, we need to be able to let smaller groups survive, and thrive, in this space. Things like increasing the wealth of an area based on activity so that an organization that used to need 50 systems to survive now only needs, say, 15. The build up, not out idea, essentially. If I had to pick one thing to move forward with first, it'd probably be a version of this.
3. A healthy mercenary marketplace is one where a client can effectively find a mercenary that fits their needs and mercenaries can effectively showcase their talents and specialties to prospective clients. Ideally, I'd want an interface sort of similar to the corporation search tool in game. You're looking for mercenaries who can provide high security POCO bashing? Here's a list of mercenaries who have listed that in their talents along with the amount of times they've been hired to do it, what they've been rated by former employers, and the contract kill reports of any relevant previous contracts.
Or maybe you want a list of mercenaries who can provide high security POCO bashing but listed by cheapest quote to most expensive? Here you go. Or by highest rated. Or by most contracts provided. Here you are.
Having something like this in place would allow people to find the mercenaries they need a lot easier, thereby increasing the amount of usage.
4. I've spoken with quite a few current and former CSM members, Ali included. Of course I've been told that I can't expect to walk in and drop my demands on the table - which I was never planning to, of course. Perhaps most importantly, I've been taught that compiling good data to show CCP for or against an argument is a great way to make a point rather than simply debating opinions.
5. I don't know, but, as always, I blame Greb. My CSM Thread My Blog @wsethbrown |

I really like the idea of a built-in interface for mercenary services.
This could really help people/corps/alliances not in the know find a reputable mercenary group that meets their needs and really give a boost to the profession as a whole.
From listening to a certain podcast it appears that one of the main reasons people do not hire mercs is because they feel that it makes their group look weak. If they were able to see how many groups actually hired mercs then that opinion might change.

As a reformed mercenary, I'd say that the mercenary aspect of Eve Online is unique in the style and execution of the gameplay. The code that proper mercenaries follow to maintain success in their field is remarkable, and the best part is that it is created by the players. That being said, I think that Psianh is in a great position to lead mercenary representation and help better that area of gameplay.
I look forward to seeing what you can accomplish this year on CSM9. You'll be on my ballot for sure, and my best to Noir. My status as a candidate should be approved shortly.
Dolan reached out to me to let me know something happened with my online form, but I have sent the PDF copy he supplied me with to ensure that everything is taken care of.

I was waiting patiently for news of Psianhs confirmation and now that he is an official candidate, I am pleased to endorse him for a seat on CSM 9.
Quote:Psianh has a background in community management, and as we keep seeing communication between the players, CSM and CCP is very important, therefore on this alone Psianh will make an excellent member of CSM 9. However this is not solely why I chose to recommend him. He has a solid footing in small gang pvp across many areas of EVE, understands that EVE needs an active merc community, and after a long chat with him he has strong ideas on new players and how best to ensure they advance in EVE.
