I endorse this product and/or service. Mang is a solid guy who genuinely enjoys what he does (even if he yells a bit) and is committed completely to providing entertainment and 'content' for other players. He's constantly asking those on Ganked (and in other chat channels) for improvements and ideas to present to CCP, which is exactly what I'd expect from a CSM member. Unless he goes skitz, he'll be high up my voting list. Member of the EVE Blog Pack - Through Newb Eyes

Hello Mangala
As you're a CSM8 incumbent, I'd like to ask you...
What do you feel you brought to the CSM8 table that others did not?
What was your finest non-nda'd (i.e. that you can tell us about now) achievement on CSM8? |

If Mang gets half the votes he deserves for his work this year, especially at the summit where he kept the requirements of hi-sec visible during the various sessions, then he's got his place in the bag.
I rest my case.

I rest my case. Not with someone as pr0 as Gevlon on the case! Not really sure why he would be against a high sec CSM... but ah well.
To be honest, the whole CSM this year has been pretty good. We've been kept pretty well up to date and things seems to be chugging along well so most of the current CSMs should have little trouble holding votes next time around.

Mang brings good content. It is as simple as that.
His approach delivers for new players wondering how to get into pvp and to vets who want lols and roams and content.
Whether in RvB, through Ganked, on the CSM or when engaging with all of us, the barrow he is pushing is 'make the game fun'.

Hey Mang, I just listened to your LoaC Interview. Fun to listen to, also nice namedrop there!
But... you were petting each others backs quite a lot, especially the beginning was a bit cringeworthy :p
What I was wondering tho.. I often hear "CCP doesn't care about a CSM rep's pet project" yet you talked a lot about specific changes (changes I agree with, btw) that you are pushing for. Can you elaborate a bit how that works, especially if your collagues repeatedly state it doesn't work?
Also, you said that it is very, very important to fill up those 14 candidate slots when voting, even if one is not really sure etc. I kinda disagree. IIRC with just 5 candidates 90% of your vote will matter, that is a lot compared to pre-STV. At some point I rather risk a small percentage of my vote not counting, than accidently helping the wrong candidate because I was trying to get the 14 full and had to add 6 I knew little about. |

Honestly?
I would love to see them brought ON grid. Just do not see a reasoning about having near inviolable effects available across many many AU when every other effect from resebo to logi to damage itself is pretty much an on grid affair. You want to have the benefit of combat bonuses then you should be committing them to the field and not just orbiting a pos outside the shields or sitting on a station undock etc
Its not really a combat example, however go and look at mining ops in high sec. Boosts are usually coming from an Orca that is on the belt/in the anomaly. Yes the Orca has other uses which merit it being there, but so do boost ships, they can still fight, ewar etc RvB Ganked: EVE's Number One Public Roam |

Same answer, any sort of boosts should be on grid (Yet to find the mythical rorq supported mining op in null yet, and ive been looking for nearly 3 years!)

I've seen Rorq used in null to support mining fleets, I assumed it was common...
But I completely agree with your main point: boosts should be on grid. Perhaps it means that the Rorq needs fixing. Perhaps mining boosts should be an exception. But these issues are less important than the off grid combat boosts. |

Hey Mang - had a question I was going to ask you and decided to post it here instead.
Simply put, you run the largest public fleet group, RvB Ganked, using nothing but a chat channel and mailing list. Do you think that there are an adequate amount of resources and tools to manage and operate a community not tied to corporations or alliances? Incursion communities operate on this same principal, and as was seen during the dissolution of Bombers Bar, this model is limited in scope and does not have the same luxuries such as roles, standings, fleet finder, or CEO replacement.
Put even more simply, there are communities in Eve that exist outside of the constraints of corporations and alliances, do you think that there are enough tools to help these communities thrive and succeed? Can they even be considered legit entities at all? Can't shoot blues if you don't have any. Long Live NPSI. |

Having the opportunity to meet Mangala at Eve Vegas last year was an absolute treat! He was so down to earth and friendly, not once letting any inkling of e-fame affect him. We chatted on the rooftop of the Rio for quite a while as we waited in line for some grub, and talked about everything from Eve to politics (RL) to the hot chicks that were cosplaying. He's such a friendly, approachable, and good listener.
I have to say that having personalities on the CSM that take that kind of time to visit with and chat with people, swallow pride, and listen to us ramble about our thoughts and ideas, while actively engaging us in feedback, debate, and discussion is an invaluable quality in a person.
Mangala, I sincerely look forward to your next term and look forward to the prospect of working with you! Hello Mangala Solaris ,
I only have 1 short, pointed question, so this should be a pretty easy "yes" or "no" answer. Everyone has their own reasoning / logic, so I don't want to know why, just a clear answer to whether or not you support a ban.
Do you support banning players, for actions, like Erotica 1 ? |

OK ... I will ask these same questions in a mail, as you stated, and then we will publish the results. Considering the Dev Post: An Announcement Regarding Real Life Harassment, the very large response from the community, the affect this could have on game play, and the stated interest from the very pilots that are being asked to vote for a candidate who they are now being denied information they may find relative, I find this very curious. This subject does NOT only affect CCP, or CSM, but many other EVE pilots.
Allowing other pilots to have this conversation on other websites has already make it a public matter. You can't put the stink back in the bottle once you let it out. |
