Listen bro, it's cool that nuthugging and muckraking are your EVE meta games, but a little word of advice if I may, diversify. Your constant whining about the exact same thing over and over and over is tiresome and reeks of pettiness. Tons of people in comedy and journalism have made careers off of persistent whining, but one thing they all have that you don't, other than an ounce of talent, is originality. Mix it up a bit. This entire game was based around the premise of "ruining someone's day." It's a game about conflict.
Well Poetic. Then I'm just going to point out the obvious. If you truly believe the premise of this game to be was you stated above. Then your entire rant about the Uni and kelduum is nothing but jealousy. Because he has not only been able to sucker and convince 1500 people to follow him, but he also managed to get you to do it too, until the point where it was you that got KICKED and not you that left on your own accord. On top of all those players, he's also managed to convince CCP that what he's doing is for their benefit. Thus, I'd say he's managed to play the game to the fullest of your definition and your purpose. Therefore, you fail my friend. Good luck with your spaceship and E-Uni hate-on. I suggest if you don't find enjoyment in the game, that you go find some other game to play on. |

I could write a wall of text, but I will keep it brief.
The 'problem' with E-Uni isn't that it 'breeds carebears' The 'problem' is that it gives the carebears a foothold in eve, whereas people that risk adverse would ordinarily leave after their first loss.
Is creating a comfy space for these people "good" or "bad" for Eve? I would suggest it is probably good for CCP via subs, and ergo good for eve.
The problem, at the moment, isn't highsec huggers. The problem is the concessions* being made to them, and that has little or nothing to do with E-Uni, and a lot to do with my previous point.
(* the rewards of highsec are now sufficiently high, that "earning more ISK elsewhere" is no longer a motivator to leave) - "Do not touch anything unnecessarily. Beware of pretty girls in dance halls and parks who may be spies, as well as bicycles, revolvers, uniforms, arms, dead horses, and men lying on roads -- they are not there accidentally." -Soviet infantry manual, issued in the 1930's |

As groups of people enter E-U, they make friends, group up, and when the restrictive rules of the uni start chaffing, they leave and form new corps of players...
Or, like PS, they ***** and whine until they get the boot. Because they don't realize that "it's all been done before..."
Seriously, lot's of players come into the game solo, who don't want to stay solo... It's like the sense of community that other organizations give their players. Goonfleet/swarm, Dredd/Test - those are ready made "communities". If you don't belong to a group before you get into Eve, you quickly figure out that you need friends...
E-U provides *one* of the places people go to (and find that sense of community incidentally) that they can then *find* friends. Which is a pretty big benefit to all of Eve....

I would have quit EVE after a month without EUNI, and later, The Graduates.
The old 'learning curve' picture is true. Places like EUNI encourage new players to stay. I have never seen statistics on it, but I am certain that the % of new solo people who quit eve after a month is gigantic. EUNI (and other corps like it) should be encouraged, and to be frank, should be advertisied in the initial 'welcome' email you get when you sub. We would have more players for it.
BUT - I also think they should be subject to the normal griefing, and they still are. I encourage you to grief them. Again - its whats awesome about eve. Just dont go complaining when you dont get insurance for your 'non-consensual pvp' (ganking). Keep doing it, but stop complaining. Anyway - I have seen EUNI essentially completely shut down before - so it is possible to hurt these 'carebear' corps. The folks complaining in this thread are just doing it wrong.

Why? Because you say so?
"BUT THEY"RE NOT PLAYING RIGHT!!!"
So what? Last time I checked, a corp can run itself however it wants. And when so many players (way beyond the number who ever stay in E-U) stay in the game and prosper with what they've learned, I'd say that qualifies them as a teaching corp.
Poetic Stanziel wrote:Kelduum uses the numbers to make a case to CCP when presenting them with his agenda. Those numbers are false when he's presenting E-Uni as a teaching corporation. Again, they do teach. So what if they don't teach the way you think they should?
It's tired and old, but if you think you can do better... (which, I'm betting you can't/couldn't/won't) - form your own school. See how long you last... Besides that, you think Keld is the only alliance leader CCP is talking to? Why in gods name would it be?

Two things, you can still war-dec the uni. It's gonna cost'ya if you want "1000 carebears who should create their own corporations..." And there is zero.point.nothing to say that CCP isn't reviewing War-Dec mechanics as we speak... It would make a dam good troll of the player base if they were...
