I made a guide its a simple to use table where you enter the mission you are on using drop down menu and it tells you how much the salvage is worth.
The database i used is thanks to the information provided on http://eve.podzone.net/wsdb/ and is by no means exhaustive but to be used rather as a guide. If you wish to supply any results you found from missions just select all ctrl-A with your salvager after completing and send me the list in game and i can add it to the database. Price data is pulled from jita min sells and max buy. You can edit all this if you so wish in the items sheet
Enjoy (make a copy of the sheet if you wish to edit it yourself and use the drop down menu)

There are a few missions that I had no data for so these will appear blank, but yes salvage is random yet its not as random as you think it is. Large wrecks give more and depending on the race that drops them give different types of salvages hence the different weightings for them in the table. So the data is still very current and quite accurate looking at the missions briefly and after running some the ISK values do seem to correlate well, as you would expect in missions where more BS exist your salvage is better. I have not taken into account loot drops though as this kind of data would take weeks to mine and i thought unnecessary, rather you can decide if its best to just scoop the tractor or go ahead and do some salvaging too is what this is useful for. |

Pilot skills make a huge difference.
How are you doing your standings?
Including declines per hour and travel distances to backup agents.
Do you have a new player that can make way more off your salvage and pay you a %?
Lots of factors to the answer can not fit into a chart so easy.
Even those that can vary day to day. Salvage prices up or down right now?
What is the isk v.s. production ratio currently?
Market factors help this vary further.
Then the even odder aspects like % chance to lose a ship even if small figure in losses v.s. rewards.
Plus add in multitasking. How your remote marketing improves due to more time in warp per hour even if the straight income isk/LP is equal.
My answer: Different for each pilot at different times. Try to enjoy the game.
L4 salvage always helps new players. Having another player salvage for you and cut you in is always most effective. Make being social a goal it's an MMO after all. |

wow so much hate, its only meant as a rough guide. I do spreadsheets as a hobby and thought id share this out of goodwill thats all its meant as a guide for yourself do with it what you will. And fyi the prices are in real time pulled from jita so its always up to date but i agree there are a lot of factors at play |

I did, but it's easier to sum up why this is useless in a single sentence. |

Generally i dont bother with salvage unless i can get a newbie to follow me. I tried the contract **** to pro synergy but even that was too much effort with the ninja looters.
You can look at this one of 2 ways. Is it worth spending 15-20 minutes between travel and salvage or would you rather start the next misson?
Which nets you more actual isk per hour?
Are you running x missions to farm specific lp?
The spreadsheet wasnt bad though. Was nice.

Love those salvage drones and mobile tractor unit, working away while I go AFK.
Also allows my shield and capacitor to recharge. Would be boring waiting on those.
Doesn't really matter if it is efficient or not to me. |

Where he has 20 of a mission done, his estimate for "expectation" should be reasonable. |

I like such 'statistics', but unfortunately it lacks too much information. I know you have concentrated yourself on salvage, but it would be a lot more informational to see the loot tables in specific missions and areas.
E.g. I'm collecting data myself to see how the loot tables look like before/after the patch. I know there's a lot of RNG inside, but when I was more active I've felt like the numbers are constantly being tweaked. If you still have logs, you might incorporate the data within other sheet and show that too : ).
It's a solid base for an application which could query the market and then you can see if it pays off to salvage at real-time. It doesn't matter how random the mission salvage/loot is as long as you have MIN | MAX set up. Based on those numbers, people can decide whether to salvage or not.
E.g. Mission name & Level (NPC): MIN - MAX;[sample size]
Gone Berserk IV (EoM): 12.100.000 - 24.900.000;83
Angel Extravaganza IV (Angel Cartel): 12.500.000 - 39.600.000;51
Cargo Delivery IV (Serpentis): 3.470.000 - 15.700.000;24
Dread Pirate Scarlet IV (...): 18.000.000 - 38.000.000;11 * this one depends on the spawns; usually Guristas Battleships drop nothing special
...
* All values are estimated values within the game. Usually you get lesser than what is estimated. |

Kudos to the OP for doing this. It's pilots like him who try to add content and insight to our game through effort and generosity , and snot-nosed dipsticks like you who make me want to punch a rabbit in the face.
EDIT: No rabbits were hurt during the posting of this content. |

More data is good! Only criticism I have is the formatting on the Salvage page. You might consider using larger font or other formatting gimmick to make it more clear that the list is organized by Mission and then by Faction. Perhaps a new first column for the Mission name, and second column for faction name. |

Thank you for the effort, not seen anything like this salvage content, I am an old player returning after a couple years break, I used to manufacture rigs when the bpo where first listed, Remember all rigs where large even the rigs on frigs, anyways now that I am im carebear country and all the other juicy bpo's are locked down in some randomy ownded null player stations. this might get the production alt doing something. |

Rigs aren't as profitable as they used to be especially in Jita but you should sell them at outer hubs they sell for a decent price and turnover quite rapidly. Tech 2 rigs on the other hand there are still quite a lot of them that turn good profit and its a growing market. People want to accesorise and indulge in luxury goods more now so you are seeing growth in T2 and officer/faction etc prices in line with the inflation |
