Hello
Im currently running level 1 missions for a nullsec agent that im -5.00 sec for.
Ive got my social skills trained up but here is the rub
I dont want to run any storyline/event agents as i quite like my highsec standings as it allows me a POS if i ever want to put one up.
Question
1 If i just run level one agents how many will i have to run to get me from -5.00 to 1 so that i can run a level 2 agent. Ive run about 30 so far and ive dropped to -4.99. Is it in the hundreds?
also there are no COSMOS agents for this faction |

My understanding is that you need your faction standings up sufficiently to be able to get better than level 1 missions.
ie the best way to solve this is to use an alt to trigger missions, and give the main warp ins / bms to the missions. if you have an otherwise untrained alt, even on the same account, then you can set its medical clone to the hub or close by as possible and then you can reduce the necessity for your main to dock, and you also have something of a throwaway scout - ie you can jump through an unknown gate, then switch characters and gate your mission character with very recent intel. |

2 major factors are going to change how long you think it will take.
First being story line missions. They will jump your standings for a given corp/empire much faster than normal missions.
The other aspect being the -2 factor. Once you are over that mark with both corp and empire you should be able to get missions based on the higher standings of the two instead of the lower. Many people jump from L1 to L2 or higher when this happens.
Raising standings with one group that has a relation to another is going to effect them standing wise.
Your post was a bit unclear on if you have corp or empire standings issues. You will have to have a -2 with the faction to get out of L1's and I don't know how that will effect your POS aspects.
If you are looking for good standings and a POS you must first get up all 4 factions then focus on one or go with interbus which will kill your isk per hour due to the lack of LP. |

You will never be able to access level 2 agents without improving your (modified) standing with the pirate faction above -2.0. You cannot improve this at all if you do not accept storylines. Furthermore, most of the regular missions will have you shooting empire factions anyway, which will reduce your empire standings without improving your pirate standings.
If you want to run missions in nullsec without trashing your standings, you should do it for a non-pirate faction. It's not quite that cut and dried. Something to keep in mind is that there are a few ways to get pirate faction standings without working directly with the pirate faction or doing so in a roundabout fashion.
There are the pirate arcs, which have alternate starting agents with empire factions. There are also derived faction standings to consider (for example, check out Thukker Tribe in the derived standigns link below). There are pirate faction elements in the main epic arcs as well.

The faction standing repair plan also includes a pirate faction repair section towards the end of the guide. |

Its also important to remember that standing (and derived standing) changes are a percentage of the difference between current standing and either +10 or -10 depending on whether its a positive or negative change. |

I agree with everything except for the standings graph which is wrong.
A couple years ago Thukker Tribe gained Faction status and became positive with Minmatar Republic. I use to run Thukker Tribe missions a long time ago and they were never positive with any of the Pirate Factions.
This standings graph has been updated with the current standings = http://www.eve-wiki.net/index.php?title=Standings#Standing_Relationships
The 'In-Game Inter-Faction Relationships' graph is read from the top down and the 'Derived Inter-Faction Standing Modifier' graph is read from left to right.
