Im currently running a auction and the bid got up to 25 million isk, then someone less than 2 months ingame bids 30 million isk. He doesnt even have a portrait yet and is in a noobie corp.
Im scared if the auction ends I and I escrow it to him, He will just burn me, I have been burned numerous times in the same way by greifers forcing me to wait 1-7 more days to sell my stuff.
My question is since this is on the sell forums, will CCP take action if he decides to burn me?

I doubt it. Why not just give him a time limit and if he does nothing sell it to the next highest bidder?

Set the escrow for a day or two and send a note to the buyer that he can claim the escrow from everywhere. For finding the personal escrow, sorting the 'issued to' column twice works very fast.
If the buyer didn't talk about different delivery options, petition and do the deal with the next pilot in line. There is no way to burn you 'legally' on an auction from the official forum. --*=*=*-- Megadon CCP wanted a well known artist and celebrity to test the new font so it's approval would be well known. ive done a few auctions the noobies are usually alts of the mains - they dont like ot reveal themselves tho esp in low sec and 0.0 NPC purchase areas. Remember u can cancel an escrow at any time to simply by right click and cancel it so if they dotn purchase u take it down after a day.
U could put a restriction on 3 month minimum ingame to the uaction that might help but mostly the noobie alts are of rich mains that dont like to reveal themselves.

"Burning" you would count as a scam which is allowed.

All trades on the trade forum along the lines of the TOS and EULA are supported by ccp. You can read the sticky in the respective forum parts for some more info. --*=*=*-- Megadon CCP wanted a well known artist and celebrity to test the new font so it's approval would be well known. They got Ray |

I really don't like setting this precedent, the forums should be scam free and if someone is caught scamming using the forums they should lose their forum account. I don't want to see the sell orders ending up like escrow. signature removed - please email us if you want to know why - Oldmailman([email protected]) |

Its been this way for three years...
If someone scams on the forums, he won't get banned, but his thread will be locked and if he tries to sell/buy again people will point him out and he won't be able to unless he regains the trust of the world of EVE.

Put a little disclaimer in your auction saying "no alt bids will be accepted"

Edited by: Argenton Sayvers on 19/04/2006 02:33:41 Dont put an restricted escrow (you cannot cancel those) - and state that in the auction rules before the start of the auction next time. If your item gets claimed, you get the money. Everything else is not your concern.
Another thing is that escrows are no longer visible after 3-10h. That means you have to state the exact location of the item, or the winner will not be able to pick it up.
Believe it or not - even if you might know both points i just mentioned, lots of people do not. Im a trader, i run into them on a daily basis...
On another note, i was trading Centum reppers (500m+) less then 1 month after my graduation. And im not an alt. You can look at my character info all you want. You can start getting scared when sums above 2b are involved.
