I haven't played much over the past year but I came back recently and I want to do some theorycrafting. I used to use EHQ for fitting but it doesn't seem to have the bastion module so I'm wondering what else it might be missing.
Can anyone recommend a good fitting tool that is current with the Rubicon release?

I only use EFT.
Its up to date. "CCP is changing policy, and has asked that we discontinue the bonus credit program after November 7th. So until then, enjoy a super-bonus of 1B Blink Credit for each 60-day GTC you buy!"
Never forget. |

EFT 2.22.1 or Pyfa, both should be up to date and are good to use. 97% of girls would die if Justin Bieber were about to jump off a cliff. Post this in your sig if you`re part of the 3% yelling,

Then you dont have the most up to date one, because it does.
All are good. I prefer EHQ because it does skills, fitting, skillplanner, requisitions, all in one. Nothing wrong with the other programs out there though.
Osmium is showing some real promise because it is cloud based and completely portable. I'm probably typing on an iPad, which means the auto-correct is silly and fixing typos is a pain. I ain't fixing them. |

There's been some major changes to the software. If your copy is older than 2.10.x you should backup your settings if you want to keep them and download the latest version from http://www.evehq.net/.
I've tried the others and agree that Osmium is looking good. Between EFT and Pyfa I prefer Pyfa but they both feel 'clunky' compared to EveHQ. |

Pyfa's graphs are nice... about all I use it for because I use EveHQ for everything else. -Bl+¦d |

Another EveHQ user here. It has everything you need for account management so don't need any other program. That is the Way, the Tao.

In their basics they all do the same thing but EFT has the better damage application graph/options so you might as well get used to that one. |

I'd rather use the one that has the most useful functions rather than the one with possibly the worst UI just cos it has a nice graph.
And FYI EveHQ also has a very good damage calculator that allows you dynamically change the field of combat to show the circumstances of the engagement. But tbh the damage graphs are pretty bloody pointless outside of theory crafting oneupmanship cos nothing acts exactly like the graphs indicate when you get into actual combat.
OP get yourself an updated version of HQ mate. if that's the one you used before you'll probably still like it now. That is the Way, the Tao.
Balance is everything.

Yes, not figuring out how certain situations, fits or fights pan out is terrible. Lets not think before hand what the best course of action would be, instead just "do stuff" and when it inevitably goes wrong just blame "bad luck".

Personally, I'd use Pyfa for fitting and cleaner UI or EVEHQ for additional information (Love the capacitor information graphporn, hate the UI). I enjoyed eve until I went to the official forums and found out that the game is dying and I'm the reason why... |

No one blames bad luck in eve - we have a far easier scapegoat: boosts. I'm probably typing on an iPad, which means the auto-correct is silly and fixing typos is a pain. I ain't fixing them. |

Since it's a website, it works from places where you can't install your own software. On my home computer, I prefer Pyfa. |

Not surprising many of your reply's to post turn out to be forum battles given how always take things the wrong way isn't it
As the EveHQ like I said in the above post it allows you to dynamically alter the engagement to work out more 'realistic' figures for you take make your theoretical decisions on. Therefore allowing you to plan various courses of action during a theoretical engagement.
Then when you end up in said engagement and the shakes grab you and the adrenalin causes you to have tunnel vision on one or two stats 'cos ET/evehq says I can do this' and you get whelped then you can blame your fitting program. That is the Way, the Tao.
Balance is everything.
