This footage was made by modifying the eve client to show Jove models instead of the player's real ship. The ships themselves are not accessible to players.
AFAIK Jovian ships have not been seen in our space since the last time one of them went rogue and started killing people in an Eidolon battleship. That was a pre-Castor event.

The footage is from after the Exodus Expansion. You can clearly see the planetary effects (city lighting and spinning clouds) that were added then.
This is an old trick where you can hack the client to make your screen show a different model than what you are really flying. It has no effect on what others would see, or your fitting, as that's handled server side. This technique was used to get many of the pictures of ships you see on the web. _____________________________________________________________________ Thar be Pirates

Ok, can anyone tell me what that flat ship, looks like a mollusc, is? I think its way too cool. I wanted a Caldari ship, even rail platform, to look like a Manta ray, this is close enough .
CCP, make a manta ray like ship, please, something players can use.

You are correct. I was merely referring to the last Jove event in which one of their generals invaded our space with a task force of very tough ships. Took a lot of players to bring him down. This is the last time I'm aware of in which Jove ships were seen in game. And it was pre-Exodus. That video was just made after Exodus.

Wraith ('newbie frigate'), Spectre (frigate), Phantom (cruiser), Eidolon (battleship), and Visitant (industrial). That is the extent of the Jovian ships currently residing in the EVE database. The Enigma is not a Jovian ship, for those that are keeping score.

As for where the video came about, or how old it is, I have no idea. It is certainly not an official CCP video. I do not believe we have ever put out footage of the Jovian ships and I do not believe that the Visitant has actually appeared in EVE. I may be wrong, however.
Can't believe you haven't released em yet, those are easily the best looking ships in the game.

I loved the aquatic look of the Boroni ships in the X-series. I love the aquatic look of the Jove ships.
EVE is more fun in space, X does the industrial part better. Both have to work on the industrial UI design some more. X has no other players around and ccp got a lot of great folks. --*=*=*-- Megadon CCP wanted a well known artist and celebrity to test the new font so it's approval would be well known. They got Ray |

iirc that video was first seen around a year ago, and as above poster says it was by replacing the normal ship models with the jove ones (same thing was done to a missile so it looked like a guided missile flew around).
as for jove ships in-game to my knowledge only the jove bs is to be seen during events and such, TomB is very fond of his bs showing it off, I saw it last time at the december PVP tournaments.

Most of what you said is correct, but the Jove that was killed was not a "General". Ouria, was a Jovian "Admiral" flying an Eidolon and he was accompanied by five other Joves. I was in MASS at the time and they led the SA fleet that eventually killed the Eidolon. I remember the Eidolon dropped Modulated Tachyons long before they were available ingame.
I didn't check the can (No One Trusted Me) but I heard that the Jove originally dropped a Miner V BPO (Yes tech level 5) accidently and that the devs gave MASS the 1st tech 2 BPO ingame (A Miner II BPO) and some other stuff to cover up their blooper and to appease MASS members that participated in the destruction of the Eidolon. There are player submitted screenshots somewhere of the Eidolon getting shot and you can read in local how someone is saying "He isn't tanking that damage, he just pressed a HEAL button!"
