Edited by: Grash Freedom on 19/04/2006 09:30:32 Edited by: Grash Freedom on 19/04/2006 09:29:25 Hello all,
Yesterday i got scammed, in a forum auction, well i petitioned, but still no answer from CCP.
The scammer, contacted me we had a short chat about the auction buyout, i wired the isks and then he logged of. simple
I have no problem waiting a couple of days, but as i understand it the scammer now has my isks and time do launder the money, this will automaticly add more work to CCPs staff, thats because they have to track down every single isk and probably some players will receive parts of my isk that had nothing to do with the scam.
My questions are 1)I petitioned under Rules and policies/GM,ISD Is the right petition to file?
2)When CCP finally take a look, how are they going to point the scammer and ban him if he has done 2000+ transactions over market?
3)Will i have the ingame name of the scammer and be happy that he lost hopefully a very skilled account?
The fact that i have been waiting already one day, it has impact on my activity in eve, first of all i have no cash atm to buy a GTC and my account deactivates tommorow, this can be solved by a corp loan that i will take but, i do not want to do that.
Anyway, any pointers will be nice, if a gm answers my post i will be even more happy
Thanks for reading

ISKies can't be laundered, in that way but, if the guys been found to scam he'll get banned, plus dev's have this handy ability to put a players wallet into negative figures.

You are not offered any extra protection through the forums other than the fact that the seller can get a warning/ban on the forums for it.

a char with negative wallet is a success, especially if its a scamming alt, just delete the alt and make new.

Did you read my post at all?
"You are not offered any extra protection."
You get the GTC scam protection in-game as well, so its not an extra feature of the forum.
Scamming on the forums is exactly the same as that in-game, except that the scammer can get his thread locked and get a warning for doing so.

GTC scam on forums allowed?
You don't get any *extra* protection from doing it over the forum. The scamming is still forbidden, as it is in-game.

GTC scamming on the forums is protected.
So DS is incorrect then? ----------------

Above shows my rephrased version. Here's what DS said:
Originally by: Dark Shikari You are not offered any extra protection through the forums other than the fact that the seller can get a warning/ban on the forums for it.
DS is correct but you have to stress the word *extra*. You are still protected on the forums, you just don't get any *extra* protection by using them. You just get the reactionary ban/lock that can take place on the forum. ______________________

Scamming GTC's is not allowed, so you should get your ISK back.

What he is saying is, that you are protected from GTC scams on the forums. You are ALSO protected from GTC scams ingame as well.
Hence you have the same protection you have ingame as you have on the forums.

i'm blatantly going to set up an elaborate scam whereby i scam myself out of all my money, launder it through 400 trial accounts, then petition it and get my money back off myself.

Since you used "ask a question" it doesn't matter I think. In game it should be cheating or harrassment or something like that.

Forums is really just a way to get in contact with buyers and sellers. It's what takes place in game that matters anyway.

Isn't this what escrow was made for?
Just make the seller make an escrow availeble only to you with the right price. Check the package and you can't be scammed.. unless you buy BM's i guess.
