It was unique for the same reason WoW was unique.
It used a different background than EQ. It was still just grind and grind, and I saw alot of people flock to it, realize it wasn't anything cose to what it was suppose to be, and go back to DAOC and other games.

I would love some sort of out of pod experience.
Just think what itd be like if you could dock to planets and fight Planetside style? A first person element in the game would balance out the 3rd person action that eve is based on. No doubt a ton of work, itd be like making a whole new game and intergrating it into eve, or you can just pay a merc to steal the source code for planetside
I would settle for some FPS action intergrated in EVE as is. Joystick flyable fighters or MegaGuns on capitol ships, think of battlestar glactica (Titans with people manning fighters in the bays to deploy and wipe out the enemy). What about manually controllable turrets in POS?
There is just so much eve could incorperate because of its open-ended design.

SWG started out great and had tons of potential, all that needed to be fixed were bugs and some balancing between professions. The SOE devs just had their heads too far up their asses to take one step forward without taking seven backwards. ________________ ~Phelan Lore

I want to frag people inside stations !
Well no, but would be nice if we could actually have some more interaction inside stations, its pretty boring looking at the guestlist. How about a nice bar where you can have a quafe and look through the window into space and see people docking, undocking, camping, etc.

I'd like to see Sovereignty revamped. NPC Stations and Sovereignty completely removed from 0.0. If you have stuff out there...it can be moved to a station in the core.
I also want my Tech 2 BS.

Sounds like a very sensible approach. However, when can we expect to see Factional Warfare? I'm, of course, more than happy to wait for longer than expected if in the meanwhile the game is being balanced, bugs are being fixed and we're still receiving some small content additions.

Planetary flight and the natural progression to ground based structures could also lead to dynamic stations. If this software (which would be a completely different environment within an environment) is ever released then wow, im with you on that.
Lets have dynamic stations where we can interact in bars, walk the promenade, gazing out windows to view space traffic/nebulae, would love to trip over the crates and tools in my hanger. Its all many years away, and we'll have to wait for the technoligy to catch up but its the EMERSION OF THE FUTURE.
Being serious now:
1) UI needs to be updated, radically 2) More control over existing space structures 3) More control over claimed space 4) install mechaniziums to reduce size of alliances
i think point 4 is already being done very well.

Map changes -- I have mentioned this ingame and most agree that they would love the idea to hide portions of the map. Technology changes as time go on; why no add more navigation features

*4 pages later* I see a bit of a problem with the idea of having probe ships that dont need a cyno field to get into disconnected systems. You'd end up getting a situtation where an alliance would be able to jump into one of these systems(hell, even bypass the first few to get in deep) and set up shop.
It would be a manufacturing center that no one could get to because there'd be no way of sending masses of ships after.
Although, I REALLY like the idea of some big bad alien race coming from 0.0 and slowly moving towards more civilized space. They'd eventually have to be stopped at 0.3 space or somesuch, but it would be nice to see an option for the entire universe to just go to war with a common enemy. Could you imagine fleets of THOUSANDS of ships, striking in to regain terriority. It would be sweet.
Sure the lag would suck, but it'd be cool none the less.

Dunno if it has been said or even implemented (I haven't seen anything to suggest otherwise).
Ship decals.
ie being able to brand your ship with your corporate or manufacturing logo or a personal logo. Perhaps a space for each logo, a spot where an unchangeable logo goes at manufacture and a spot for the corporate and/or personal logo.

Jove space you wouldn't be able to send ships to, they'd have some sort of jump disruption field. As for the other systems they should remove all the gates tehre and let the players build jump gates.

More low end ships would be nice, not overpowered, different. The idea already stated in this thread for a non-capital class ship with jump capability is good and there are always other good ship ideas popping up every now and then. I'd like more frigs and cruisers mostly.

Those new and interesting areas like comets... if they dont make it in kali, oh and planetary genocide, i wanna feel the power as i whip out the stellar converter (also introduced after kali) and slice up your nice planet.

Standings affecting market activity. Set a player / corp / alliance with a negative standing. They don't see your buy/sell orders.

kali will be intersting increased particpation on SISI testing will catch bugs quickly and CCP have a faster development timetable in order to speed things up or add more features on their timetabels first step is once SISI is back up with the lateast bug fixes.

How about the expansion after kali it would be nice if a new NPC faction/race is born something extremely dangerous, and power hungry, have them start in 0.0 and conquer it pushing real players back into empire(or try i should say). This new npc faction will be armed to the teeth, the AI should be programmed for some extreme combat, team work, ganking, gate camping, cloaking, chase you around the system, uses probes, jumpes into next system(if its there territory), and last but not least programmed to POD. All four empires must unite against this new threat. Call them whatever you want Ori, Cylons, Spiders, Shadows, doesn't really matter.
People would probably complain that a npc could never be as much a challenge as a real player, so it wouldn't be much fun. Well I think you could program a pretty decent npc rat.
But basic idea is have something threaten our existence in which we must set aside our differences and unite as one, against a merciless common enemy. I think it would follow with factions wars quite nicely.

I would like to see thatccp does more with an alts sec.standing ,not only keep pirats out a system,but also give good standings some reward. And that all ships can open a gate ,and you can jump abit further then the next gate .Mining is boring ,but traveling in eve realy s....
