Hi all
I have questions to all players regarding placing a buy order and an issue I have.
My situation
I have been placing the same buy order for over 6 months. It is a NPC trade route (I will not say where and what, other peeps still trading on it ) I place the buy order prior to DT for the same amount but a different price each day due to other competition. I normally buy for around 290-300 isk per unit. About 4 days ago I place the same standard order prior to DT.
DT happened and I started to check how much I had managed to buy, checking my wallet ETC. To my horror my wallet was missing 7,142,497,143 (7.1 Bil).
I started to check via transactions to see what had happened. For some reason the buy price had been set at 2,857 per unit. I always delete the price and amount in the boxes and retype it in to ensure no mistake can be made.
As you can imagine panic had set in and I proceeded to start the petition process. That done, the wait began. A few days later responses came through.
I am not allowed to say what was said (forum rules) but basically no issues or bugs were found and I am sorry but I have to decline your request for reimbursement. Matter closed!!!!
Before peeps all start saying you typed it in wrong !!!
I am 100% sure I did not type in wrong. The game has a safety feature that pops up warning you that you are about EG --- (The price you have chosen is ________ % above regional average. Are you sure you want to enter this order?). As we all know this warning is like a hammer coming out of the side of your monitor hitting you on the head.
THIS DID NOT POP UP/ INDICATE OR DO ANYTHING!!! Even if in the event i did type wrong.
This loss and the decision making process has left me angry and dismayed and I am about to finish playing EVE because of this.
But to clear my mind before my subscriptions run out as this will bug me for a long time after EVE û
Q If this sort of thing has happened to others. Q What happened Q What was the outcome
It would be most interested in finding out.
Best regards

that might not pop up if you manually type a price. maybe the game assumes you know what price you are paying if you type it yourself. ive never tried though so could be wrong.
oops thought u meant 7.1mil lol not bil. so i guess you know what your talking about.
EDIT: actually i just tested buying 1 large thorium charge manually typing in 100isk and i got no warning so i can only assume it was your error and not a bug

If try and place a buy order for lets say 1mil isk which is well over the 9k average it will pop up. It will give you the option to stop the transaction.
And to the question can i have all your stuff i will be giving stuff to RL friends and people who i have been working with. Which will be a 36 mil, 34 mil , 27 mil, 24 mil 9 mil, and a few 2-3 mil hauler toons. And a chunk of ISK modules. Its the principle of the matter i am most annoyed about not so much the isk.

Should CCP take the money from the peoples wallet and give it back to you then? Or should they be allowed to keep the money and just refund your wallet? If so can I do this also with my friends? __________________________________________________ |

No warning when you change price. Once my 400M sellorder became 40B. Broker fee was horrible :( ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The rules! |

Yes, I can confirm what was also posted above. When you change an existing price there is NO warning no matter what you type in (except when it goes over what you can afford in total).
This has cost me on the order of about 100 mil in the past (would have been more, but some of the players I overpaid on were generous in returning some of the ISK)
So I have to assume you made a mistake there. --- The Advanced Drone Control Panel. |

I don't wish to offend you, but what exactly do you think will happen?
Even if fifty people posted saying the same happened to them, it would be similar to asking if anyone is innocent in a prison.
If there is no logged error, then it is highly unlikely they would reimburse anyone. I have made mistakes adjusting prices, and have lost ISK as a result. The likelihood is that you did the same, despite being sure that you didn't.
I know how annoying it can be when you have a major setback, and I suggest you take a few days, or more, off and calm down. If you enjoy playing EVE, then you can pick it up later. Remember, EVE is a game and nothing that happens actually matters, good or bad.
