I'm trying out EVE again, I played beta a lot right up until Armageddon day but never really bothered with it after it launched. My name was Caligulax Mahatma or something along those lines (its been like 4 years hehe)
So far I've been flying around 0.0 and empire looking for ark to mine but I can't seem to find any anymore, so i'm slowly mining to get a cruiser.
My question is what would be a good cruiser to fly for piracy if you only had 14 days on your trial? Obviously skillpoints is a big factor.
If I enjoy my 2 weeks I might buy an account again.. So your help in the matter could result in another loyal customer.

On my older character, I found the rupture very forgiving. AC, 2 nos, MWD and good tank in lows. Obviously, the higher your SP the better, but I was able to use it reasonably well without the best skills out there.

Rupture is good and people are running heavy tech II fitted rupture AC setups that can give a hac a run for there money. The thing is, ruptures only good for more intense skill training. You can't just do 14 days and expect it to be good. It's not going to work compared to other cruisers.
If I had my pick for something with less skill time to train and very deadly. I would go with the Vexor. You can train drones in no time. You can be really effective with it with little drone skills. Not to mention there is only a few compared to skill lines like gunnery. On top of all of that. You can just train for medium NOS for your high slot usage instead of guns. So which is again less training time than spending time training gunnery skills and or missile skills.
Drones + Nos + Gallante Cruiser = Good Damaging and Crippling Cruiser
Then typical mechanic/armor skills needed for whatever tank you might want. This is why Vexor is one of the top "Easy Mode" cruisers out there for frig/cruiser/BC warfare. Very deadly and easy ship to train for in little to no time compared to most others.

There was actually someone who tried out the different cruisers to see which was best for Trial Accounts. If I recall correctly, he said that the Vexor was best overall, but that towards the end of the trial Rupture surpassed it. The alt he used for the Rupture was Anti Antipirate, if you want to look for it.
