There is no WestWood atm. It only stands as a name on the market, nothing else.

When is the ownage that is Supreme Commander due out? Thank god EAs grubby mitts wonŠt touch it.
I liked RA2. They did ok there. Not as good as RA1 (which was briliant) or the original C&C series (which was eve more slightly briliant )
Generals, asside from the pretty graphics didnŠt compare to any of the previous ones. And knowing EA, they will release a half-finished game, then release an expansion that fills the other quarter, and then release the last quarter in another expansion...when all that stuff should have been in the game in the first place.

Tiberium Wars is just the concept name at the moment. RA2 was fun but definately not the best game in the series. Generals: Zero Hour is pretty decent. Starcraft does not hold a candle to C&C. Nothing Blizzard has can hold a candle to C&C. --------

So long as they dont bring in *** "map unit limits" like found in SW:Empire total war.
I like trying different tactics like swarms of infantry, or insanely massive amounts of units. Its unfair that I cant deploy troops however I wish :( ----- If you kill all the wolves, your gonna end up with a crapload of bunnies, and by bunnies I mean stupid people Eve & Linux Woot! |

When Westwood was around. I thought they going to name it Tiberium Twillight and fighting a new enemy (The Scrin, remember the crashed Alien ship in Tiberium Sun?). My fear is, they going to put Kane back with other actor....
Edit: Yeah the EA intro logo is annoying. I like to change it to "EA : Mentally challenged" ---------

Doesn't look that bad, still to early to tell how it will work out, draw your own conclusions on ea....
Tbh aside from middle earth, i can't think of many positive steps in the pc market over the last couple of years, even the yearly updates on their sports titles have become stunted in graphical terms in the last few.
Intresting angle with the e-sports though.

For me the best game company ever has to be Black Isle, but they also got eaten up by some tasteless grey bafoons that find the queens speach amusing. EA are a cancer, creating crappy games and destroying good games chances.... but in some cases there time is soon over.....pro evo soccer for example has shown itself to be the better of the two major football series despite not being as flashy.... boycott EA.....so that they have to make better games _______________________________________________

I used to love the C&C games, heck I even enjoyed generals (although the multi-player side was pretty disappointing).
However my favourite ever is Rome: Total War and this has yet t be topped for me.

Spoilers, don't read here unless you want to ruin Tib Sun - I warned you .
Okay, logical question here - considering that Westwood (now EA ) usually goes with the victor's ending to continue onwards in the series, wouldn't Kane be impaled and killed at the end of Tib Sun? For example, they went with GDI's victory in Tiberium Dawn (first C&C) to start the storyline of Tib Sun, and the Allied victory over the Soviets in RA1 to start RA2 off...so, how's Kane alive again?
That man just won't stay dead - on that note though, it'd better be Joe Kucan, otherwise EA will **** it up like DS said. No Kane, no motivation to go and kill or be Nod imo .

KANE LIVES!!!
Kane appearance in Red Alert because that game was supposed to be prequel of C&C tiberium dawn. The popular theory is; if the Sovyet wins in RA. The universe goes to Tiberium series. If the allies won, the universe is branched (supposedly) into RA 2 universe. But in Renegade, when you enter temple of NOD.. interestingly there is a gallery of Sovyet pictures including apocalypse tank (RA2). Interesting twist of logic.
Other speculate Kane will reappear again on C&C3 with only his head in a jar sustained by life support (another twist to the story how this man continue to survive, just like discovering half of Kane body is covered in metal near Tib Sun GDI final campaign). ---------

Well, Kane is supposed to the the supernatural 'Messiah' of the Brotherhood. The better of the two endings of the first game's GDI campaign sees Kane standing in his temple, arms open embracing the light from the GDI Ion Cannon as if it were salvation. We also see him fade away at he end of the TS Nod campaign, albeit it does kinda look like the chronosphere animation, so it may have been that. Lines from TS hint at his supernatural qualites too:
"Kane lives in death", "The end is the beginning", "You can't kill the Messiah" etc.
I really hope Kane is in the new game and that Kucan is back to play him. I suspect he will be back, afterall, he was still involved with the most recent C&C outing, he directed C&C Generals.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaah
...yes, anyway... I think everyone is hearing all the Supreme Commander hype and forgetting one fatal thing:
Most RTSes that come out are just not fun. SC might end up under that category, it's totally hit and miss.
I think EA have done a pretty good job with the C&C license considering. Generals is still a top-notch game, RA2 was very good... I just hope they keep the gritty, harsh world of Tiberian Sun.
There's probably a reason they didn't call it Twilight. Marketing directors do think of such things you know.

Black Isle made the good RPGs, Westwood made the good RTSes.
I'm fairly certain JoWood is their offspring, because spellforce kicked all sorts of ass, and Spellforce II is going to pwn.

If have are a C&C twit like me, you would know that Kane is the name of the secretary of the Russian PM (dunno how to call him ) during RA1. He is clearly beeing asked to give him some files during one of the first missions on the russian storyline.
The RA2 and Generals have NO CONNECTIONS whatsoever to the original C&C storyline.
RA2 is more like a "what if" version, a branched version of the win of the Allies in RA1. Even if it is so, it makes 0 sence whatsoever why you have a young Tanya in RA2 and to why Einstein still lives, as the game is taking place one or 2 decades after RA1 if I remember correctly ...
RA2 is an EA game, as well as Generals is. I have no reason whatsoever to believe that they will make a game that corresponds to the C&C universe and that is makes sense. The change of the name of the final chapter to C&C from Twilight to Tiberium Wars is the first nail in the coffin.
Also if you want to read the entire C&C storyline, the guys at PlanetC&C have done an awsome job. _____________________________

Yeah I expect Tanya would be the same age as my grandma in RA2. Why Enstein still live and Tanya still young? Chronoshift fountain of youth maybe?

I've read they made the base movable like the re-deployable MCV ala Starcraft Terran's building but with wheels.

Personally I think RA 2 was the best in the series, it was better than red alert 2 in that both sides were pretty interesting (the allies in RA were pretty borning tbh) and I prefer the RA series to the tiberium series becuase its set in a more real world, cold war world rather than the bleak one of the tiberium series and also Red alert has Hellmarch
Hellmarch is realy awesome.

For me, the best graphical game was the Earth 21xx series. The gameplay was a bit unbalanced with the spaced out valkyrie side having the better weapons as well as the ability to hover over water and land alike in the same units. The other two units had only ships and land units so you had to choose land or water. I really liked the 3D landscape idea where you had to move the view to see over a mountain and the view screen moved up and down as the units went over hills and mountains.
It blew the pants off Westwood games for graphics, it's just a pity more work wasn't put in to the content.
