Hello all,
I wanted to make a small post about something very important. Recently I came back after a few years break from the game. When I came back all of my assets were intact and all but two of my skills were trained to the proper level. For anyone reading this I advise taking a screenshot of your character sheet or even a video every month or so. When I came back two rank 8 skills were at level iv instead of V. These two skills take 33 days each to train. I trained them back in 2007 and 2008. I have submitted multiple tickets and been given the same response that their server side logs show them only being trained to level iv. I have no proff other than my two pvp videos that this isnt true. I wont post the video links since Im not trying to advertise. Basically two weapon specialization groups were trained to level V and after multiple years of inactivity something reverted them to level iv at 0% trained. I have advised that I never would have left them at 0% to level V regardless of anything. We've all been there with long skills right? So basically TLDR version, record proff of your skills being trained because if something happens they wont reimburse them. At this time I have simply requested that they update the website to state there is now a recorded instance of missing assets in the form of skill points after 6 months of inactivity. I feel like since they supposedly cannot help me then this is a fair trade no? Anyways thank you for reading and keep your skill points safe!

CCP won't trust any "proof" provided by a player. I wouldn't either. |

Yeah maybe or maybe not. But at least you can feel like you did all you could when something like that happened. It really sucks losing two months worth of training and having nothing to say other than wtf I trained this! Lol |

Your character sheet current shows WHEN you complete a skill, and you could look through your history and perhaps find if you ever trained that skill.
Unfortunately, there may be a limitation on how far back it will show you.

Thank you for the ideas. The history only goes back about a month for me, but thanks for the idea! Also thank you for the wayback machine thing too! I only found the post from when I quit in 2010. I'm just gonna come out with it here. The GM logs show me completely Torpedo Specialization to level IV in March of 2008. I trained Caldari Battleship to level V in the summer of 2007. I had been in Curse Alliance for about a month at the time. Here's the pickle with the GM story. I would have never trained Torp Spec to anything below level IV before training BS V. Pretty obvious with the simplest of math. Torp Spec IV and BS IV best combo and next in line is naturally BS V. They are claiming I trained torp spec to iv in March of 2008 when I had been using tech 2 torpedo launchers since the Summer of 2007. No one who knows anything about Eve training would have done it in that order. I'm still in an escalated ticket. But for anyone here who has ever flown a torp raven would probably agree you would train the spec to iv than bs v. Then when you feel like you can squeeze it in, the spec to V which I am pretty sure is when I finished it around March of 2008 when they claim I got it to level IV. Now I WISH what had happened here is I was podded with an outdated clone so my mind can rest easy. They did not me aware of any lost skill points due to an outdated clone being destroyed. They simply say I trained torp spec to iv over 6 months after I trained it to level I and thats also 6 months or more than when I finished BS V. My two videos include a very fair amount of torpedo raven pvp. Whether thats terrible or not isn't too big of a deal. The fact is the timeline for the skills doesn't even makes sense barring the fact I remember skilling torp spec to v AFTER BS V. I also lost cruise missile spec to level V as well. But I do not have anything to really fight that on as I just remember training the specialization to V for cruise raven missions in 0.0 space. Sorry for the rant but I was legitimately jipped of a significant amount of SP and all I really am begging CCP for is admitting to the possibility that something server side caused the error. I've fought the fight about getting those reimbursed but I at least would like something about how my several years of inactivity MAY have caused the problem. If anyone else has any suggestions I'll gladly check them out, thanks for the help! |

I can understand the frustration, but I have to say honestly... I've seen several "I was gone for X years and when I came back I was missing skill Y!" threads, and I think all of them ended with one of:
- "Nevermind, I was thinking of skill Z"
- "Nevermind, I was assuming I had skill Y because I was flying/fitting W, but I forgot that I didn't actually need Y for that."
- "Oh, here's a couple of killmails of me getting podded a couple of times in quick succession; looks like I didn't update my clone."
This is sounding a bit like the second... I've not done much serious missile boating, but in projectiles, the Spec Vs are pretty optional. The month of training can usually be put to better use elsewhere.
Our memories can play tricks on us sometimes. Sorry though if you really did lose them. |

Yeah I mean its all good really. I have fully specced in gunnery as well. I have plenty of things I can fly it's more the principle ya know. I'm afraid it'll happen again and with no one claiming responsibility there's nothing that can be done. It's just frustrating more than "omg i need torp spec v or death" kind of a thing. I most definetly trained them though, but when the GM's cant really see it nothing can happen.
