The current directional scanner interface where you type in the number of kilometers does not fit well with actual use. For most purposes, people think in AU, which are big numbers (149.000.000 per AU).
I propose to have a drop down with presets in AU up to the maximum scan range. There is sufficient room next to the current input controls. The drop down should also allow customization with additional presets that players might need. A simple add/remove current kilometers as preset would suffice.
I hate arguing with static minds that relate everything relative to the status-quo. By definition these minds oppose logic, reason, posses a narrow view and object against solutions for issues that have half an existing workaround. Left up to them, nothing would ever progress!

no more dropdown menus lol.
CCP doesn't want to iterate on Dscan since its destined to get a complete overhaul.
But yeah, it would be useful functionality. "CCP is changing policy, and has asked that we discontinue the bonus credit program after November 7th. So until then, enjoy a super-bonus of 1B Blink Credit for each 60-day GTC you buy!"

Quite a few upgrades and modifications to the D-scanner coming out in the 1.3 patch, including both AU and KM displays and modifications, along with other odds and ends.
Might want to go download SISI and take a look at those first, unless you took the new changes into account. |

I was unaware of changes coming in this area. Iterating on my own drop-down suggestion..a slider with 'stop points' with AU markers above and below would be more sleek visually (and take more space).
But if this sort of stuff is coming out real soon, i better watch that first before commenting on it. I hate arguing with static minds that relate everything relative to the status-quo.
