Hello!
I'm looking for new options to use my liquid isk in order to maximize my profits. For most time I was a station trader (and I'm still one) and t1 manufacturer. Tried some cheap BPO research but had not great success. Since I'm sitting on more than 20b liquid isk, I'm looking for new oportunities and here is where you come in.
I'd like to ask you all MD readers for interesting ideas how to invest this isk to get fairly good profits.
My initial plan was to buy some capital BPO's and research them for 1-3 months and resell them with some profit. Problem here is that I can't really determine how much profit can be made doing such a business. Can someone of you help me with this? How much can i expect for 1month of research? 5%-10% of BPO value? I know it's somewhat stupid question, but all advices related to this subject are really appreciated.
Another option is market speculation - buy low / wait / sell high. It seems to be quite good way to make isk, but is 20b enough for this kind of business? How much time do you, speculators, usually need to wait to sell things? How big return can you realistically expect?
That would be that. If you see this post and have some nice/funny/stupid ideas, let me know :) Maybe we will figure out something interesting.

Speculation works best around patches, so regarding speculation you will likely need to do your own research and take some risk there. Play on the test server, read patch notes, and read between the lines.
In regards to your Capital bpos idea, there is no fixed price increase for research. You have to take a look at the sell orders forums and compare your cost vs what researched bpos are selling for. Prices fluctuate based on how many are for sale at the time. So it is the same as the first option, you just need to do a little bit of research.

Could you give me some new ideas how can someone use free isk? Any other ways to make decent profits?

That's a very broad question honestly, which is hard to answer simply. The reason is I have no idea what you have in terms of characters and what their training is. Isk per hour wise you will be very hard pressed finding anything better than station trading. If you are looking for something semi passive/active there is always invention, but you change production based on what has the best profits at the time.
Personally if you are looking for the best isk per hour, I would simply expand on your station trading. By either trading in higher margin likely more expensive products or adding another character in another trade hub.
There are very few other ways to make more isk per hour than station trading. Most if not all require at least 100-400b to do properly anyways.

20b would normally be a donation. Unless you're in a bonus round, which would be a 100b payout.

While, I haven't reached the 20-30 billion mark as of yet, I have found that trading in FW hotspots has increased my margins significantly. The volume is nowhere near that of Jita, though the profits on these lesser volumes have consistently exceeded what I was seeing as a single station trader.
I imagine with 20-30b extra I would work with several major trade hubs within the FW space. Having access to jump clones would increase your survival, but so would knowing how to get around without getting blown up. I'm certainly not the guy that doesn't get blown up so I use jump freighters to move my product. They are expensive to hire! Profits still blow that cost out of the water.
I'd go with a minimum of 4 stations in FW space if I had the choice, ISK, and open market orders. Continue to buy in highsec trade hubs then ship it down. LP rewards are pretty high in FW, lp is converted to isk. Easily accessible goods in their homespace is easily sold at high margin as they just have to click buy and go. It's not like highsec where I can float around to several different stations and get what I want. Stations in FW systems are only accessible by the faction that owns the space at the time. Find out which ones aren't changing hands, have plenty of pilots in space, and have a stocked market.
If I had more open trade slots (soon to happen) I would expand.
Good luck! |
