I have generally always done missions in a missile boat, level 3's even level 4's In drakes and Ravens and it is slow going generally, although they do have the advantage of being immune (at the moment) to tracking disruption. But I wonder if there is a projectile or Hybrid fit out there that would dish out more actual DPS, and therefore go through these missions more quickly than a missile boat?
Ive no real experience on using such ships for missions though and was hoping that the wonderful citizens of eve would offer some advise on fittings. I have all racial BS skills to 3 bar Caldari which is at IV. I have all BCs to V

If you're looking for isk/hour you might try your hand at blitzing in a tengu. I've found it to easily average over 100m/hour and a load of fun even though i was getting tired of missile boats.
I've heard the paladin and vargur are both top tier mission runners as well if you want to get away from missiles. |

i have a tengu that I curently use for exploration, I could refit that, Ive never got close to 100m per hour thought in any missions, what kind of missions were you doing to get that kind of income?
Ill look at those other ships too as I was hoping to get away from missiles, but saying that if i can generate 100m per hour then ill have missiles all day long. Blitz L4 missions for SoE. Each LP is easy to convert at 2k with the probes or probe launchers. You want to get the faction standings over 5.0 so you can pretty much freely decline missions. While you work you're way up you'll need to be more selective with what you can decline and what you can't
Here's some of the best missions, i would share my full excel if i knew how
Recon 1 - 4 minutes from accept to turn in worth 20m Gone berserk - 20 minutes full clear with returning in a noctis for loot/salvage 40m The assault - less then 10 minutes - over 20m Stop the thief - buy a report off the market 5 minutes for 10m Dread pirate scarlet - kill her in pocket 3 with rage fury hams before she jumps loot the implant for 35m for 10 minutes
With 5.0 to the faction you can pretty much cherry pick the most profitable. Until then your still going to be making close to 100m even when you have to blitz an angels.
I would avoid blockade in a tengu it's very slow and annyoing with short range and kin damage.
My stats are 4 or better in all related skills to ham and shield tanking. My tengu is worth about 750m with 3 navy bcus and a dead space booster almost 0 pimp. I can pretty much run semi afk and watch a show while completing missions. |

I've heard the paladin and vargur are both top tier mission runners as well if you want to get away from missiles. Confirmed for the Paladian, 2-3 hours in one can net you enough to buy and fit a a non insubstantial t1 fleet of frigs&abc's. Haven't used the vargur, though I hear similar things about it.
Long ass haul to get into one though, until you have the prerequisites I'd happily recommended a navy apocalypse. Very good lvl 4 runner and bear in mind I was using it in caldari space so gurristas were rather tough on the LAZORZZZZZZ. If in doubt...do...excessively. |

Thanks Ralf, I use to use a regular Apoc but if I recall there was a lot of ECM in some missions and so went to the raven with FoF Cruise, and then now i mission in Placid and I think there is a fair amount of TD there (I cannot recall its been a while) and therefore fell into missile again.
How do you counter when there is a lot of ECM or tracking disruption in a turret based ship? is it simply just adding tracking computers/enhancers to the fit? This is where the big flaw with "easy 100mil/hour" arises from. Yes it is possible, yes people do it. But maintaining 100mil/hour just doesn't happen. Gone Beserk has given me as little as 10mil in loot before and upto 35mil on a good day. Your not going to be getting bounty ticks much above 15mil at the BEST of times. 65mil in LP/loot is possible just the loot portion contains a fair bit of luck.
As for the OP's question, as mentioned the Paladin is an awesome ship. Had one a few weeks myself now and wouldn't change it for anything now. As long as you mission in Amarr space you will have a great time. Realistically you can expect between 50-75mil an hour depending on what missions and what loot you get. Sometimes it's better, other times its worse. |

tbh raven raven navy works great in my experience. one hitting cruiser upwards. But if u want to use alternatives, Dominix can be a nice boat without ammo consumption and immune to tracking. Else megathron, navy geddon, apocalypse (navy), maelstrom, macherial and ofcourse marauders.
And in my experience blitzing or cleaning the missions ended for me at around the same amount of isk. |

Except that Maelstrom of yours has an optimal of 3 km, a tracking speed of 0.04 rad/sec and a speed of 118 m/s. I'd dare say an AF can do L4s faster than that. Paper dps doesn't mean squat if you can't apply it. |

I would definitely fly a Mael over a Domi for L4s (for reasons that have only a little to do with performance), but I'm with Caitlyn... using a single-TE Hail Mael for comparison? Seriously? By the time you get close enough to something that you're not losing half your DPS to range, you'll be losing it to tracking instead. |

Appreciated.
Same can be said for the Domi fit, looks great sure. But 700mils of implants, perfect skills to get even close to that level of DPS. Once again, paper DPS means nothing if you don't have the skills/ISK to back it up. |

Without knowing how good your Drone or Turret skills are it's hard to give realistic advice. Changing from a Missile Boat to another system could entail a lot of training, and I don't know how prepared for that you are.
BC's are not optimal for L4's .. they can do them, but they do them slowly. So forget BC's.
Your best options have already been mentioned previously here. Look at each, see which requires the least training time.
Rattlesnake - Droneboating has changed, micromanagement is now a thing, also the Guristas line is getting a fairly radical overhaul, so check F&I forum for the pirate faction rebalance thread. Machariel - It's currently one of the most flexible BS in game, but as a pirate faction ship there are going to be changes made to it. |
